Sounds kinda cool.

I wish it would happen to me.

It's not cool when it is happening. I remember being absolutely terrified each time, esp the time I saw a shadowy figure. You are frozen in fear.

read that atlantic article i posted. it goes into detail of the biology

Just read it. Why are people seeing demons and shadowy figures instead of hot naked women? Or other positive images?

Someone may have put a curse on you.

Have you lost any cases lately?

Last night I had a dream that I was sleeping in a pitch black room and “woke up” to a pounding at the door. In my dream I was yelling at my wife that someone was pounding at the door, but she didn’t do anything. The knocking kept happening and I kept yelling at my wife in the dark in my dream. Then I finally actually woke up and I thought I may have heard the knocking continuing in real life for a brief second, but I could not tell if it was real or part of my dream. It was 2:30 am, and since it was Halloween night I thought maybe it was some kids knock and running. I looked out the front window and no one was there. Very weird dream that was unlike any other I’ve had to my recollection.

I’ve experienced it once and I was terrified. Has never happened again thankfully.

It only happened to me one time. But I also could not open my eyes. I could, however, hear someone walking around in the room. That was the worst part.

because our fight/flight sensations are triggered to a very strong degree. we'll only perceive things that are scary because of this

Crumble them up in the buttermilk.

Gross. My grandma would give me a little glass of buttermilk with salt in it when I was a kid. I loved that shite. But back to OPs discussion, I experience it every now and then but I never remember that it happened until days later.

Just like this:

Never been more scared.

Honestly sorry that you had to experience this. I've only had it a couple of times, so this could be a one time thing for you.

It's one of the most terrifying experiences imaginable. Mostly because you have one toe in a dream state, and you can't focus 100% to get out of it.

It’s never been that big of a deal to me. Maybe the first time it happened but I never see anything. I just feel awake and can’t move. First couple of times I would think what the frick is going on but after that I know it’s happening so I just chill out and eventually I can break out of it.

Hasn’t happened in a while but when it would it a lot of times it would be when I was sleeping at a different time than normal. Like a mid day nap or something.

Used to happen to me. Buddy of mine said to try yelling like a deranged animal to help get out of it. First few times it didn’t work. Finally, I was so pissed it happened, I was able to. Never happened since then

I used to have it happen a lot. Figured out sleeping with the TV on helps. When I was having sleep paralysis, if I could make my eyes look at the TV screen, I would regain full consciousness.

I can’t seem to go a single year without experiencing sleep paralysis for some reason.
