Welcome to adulthood. Now you can just live on TD with the rest of us bottom dwelling losers.

I would argue acting like a reasonable human being while maintaining social media is a better option.
I struggled with keeping or deleting for years. As time went on, all I saw on Facebook was divisive reporting and arguing amongst friends.
The main reason I kept it was to share my kid and I’s life. I guess I realized that our life will happen, regardless of me sharing it on Facebook or not.
I think it’s the right choice for me, and likely many others. Just my opinion

I'd like to applaud you for doing the right thing.
You could have easily just deleted those accounts and moved on with your life without ever letting a bunch of strangers know.
But no. You went the extra mile. You forged ahead. You posted this thread so that we would all know how brave you are.
Take a bow, good sir. You've earned it for your sacrifice.

America needs to delete social media, maybe the whole internet.
And cable news.
And AM radio nutjobs.

My Facebook is frozen in time because I just never updated it.
My instagram had more updates, but nothing much of note.
I realized long ago that no one particularly cared about seeing my life, so I didn't share. I share my child on a separate account that I curate with only a selected few.
I do like seeing tits and arse shake so I keep my personal accounts to watch the videos.

i like instagram because my feed is basically just some fishing, football, photography, and good friends/family babies, engagements, some cool vacation pictures, etc

I’d delete them but I have a shite ton of pictures I don’t want to lose.

Yup. About the same. Deleted accounts that went off topic.
Also realized the WhatsApp change is pretty mich benign right now. They aren't getting much more info than Tigerdroppings is getting.

Facebook let me download all of my data in a file when I turned mine off years ago.

I don't do Twitter, but Facebook is easy to avoid problems. I have simple rules:
1- I no longer ask to friend anyone.
2- I accept any friend requests from people I know and none from people I don't.
3- I just unfollow anyone who posts political crap of any stripe in a significant amount of their posts or comments.
4- Then it's a pretty pleasant place.
(now if only Chicken could institute an unfollow feature)

Got rid of FB a couple weeks after covid became a thing. I saw people getting swept into a panic, begging to be locked down, etc. It was unbearable.
I have IG to share my art but after these past few days I'll probably delete it. I don't trust Zuckerburg and his apps.

Twitter and facebook are the must, when getting rid of social media stuff.
Wife told me i was becoming an angry man from twitter. I got a perm ban for telling some limey count, who was beating his dogs on streams and youtube videos that i would crush his skull and shite in his eye sockets if i ever find him.
That was it, and i dont miss it.

Let's go folks. Delete those f***KING accounts.
No. I like social media to see my friends pics and goings on. As well as share pics of my kids, post about my Tigers and Saints, and make fun of political idiots.
