That’s a great vehicle holster.

Gum creek custom for the strap. My holster is some cheapo from academy. I had the holster just hung but its shakes and slides left and right. So I order that strap

As someone who carries at all times, this is not accurate.

Yes, no, ok
About 10 years ago the family and I were on the way home. It was a 55mph highway. It was around 9pm, when a truck pulled out in front of me. I had to make an aggressive move around the truck because breaking wouldn’t have worked.
1/2 mile down the road I make a right as we are a couple blocks from the house. All of the sudden, the guy who pulled out swerves in front of me and blocks my path to move further.
He jumps out with a bat and began mouthing how actions to not hit him put His family in jeopardy. He kept egging me to get out of my truck. I told him he had pulled out in front of me and was at fault. Luckily I didn’t hit him. He didn’t get and continued escalate the situation. My gun sits under the center console/bench.
My wife a little scared but also pissed, redhead- piss off no pics, said Get your Gun, loudly. His wife heard this she said it so loud so she called ol baw back to the truck.
Glad it stopped there but especially glad I had it because his bat against my fist would have been a losing battle. 40 cal always with me. CZ75, great pistol!

So do you leave your gun in the vehicle if you run into a store? I'd feel better about just brining it with me, the outside chance my car is burglarized, I do not want it stolen.
This.
I made the mistake of keeping a quite expensive 357 magnum in the console of my truck for years.
About 3 years ago my truck was broken into and it was stolen. Fortunately the Sheriff’s Department caught the person (a teenaged girl) a recovered the gun.
They still have not returned it to me. They say that they have to keep It until they prosecute her.
Hell, I may never get it back.

Just one? Are you carrying your purse in the other hand?

But CC is not for when shite has already hit the fan. If shite hits the fan, I'm open carrying, too. I'd open carry every day to avoid having to clear concealment before drawing, but people freak the frick out, so CC is the "neighborly" way to carry.
CC is for when you leave home and shite is still distant from both you and the fan, but at some point in your day, you, the shite, and the fan all arrive at the same place at the same time.

Thanks for sharing your story. So just for my clarification, you had the firearm in your vehicle. I see a few people posting ways they carry or secure their guns in the vehicle. I'm seeing a few road rage stories in the thread as well. For my education, you wouldn't necessarily need a CCW permit to carry a firearm in your vehicle?
A follow up question I have for those of you who do carry or have in your vehicle, do you pay for insurance like pre-paid legal defense should you need to use the firearm?

100%. Self defense cases run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars and there is no way to avoid a courtroom if you have to use your weapon. Even if it's a clean shoot and you aren't prosecuted, you WILL be sued by the guy you shot if he survives or the family of the guy you shot if he doesn't. I consider the cost of legal defense insurance to be just like the money I spend on ammo to practice at the range every week to maintain skills. It's part of the ongoing cost of responsibly carrying.

Not in peace time.
If I draw it I’m shooting it.

Have you ever used your firearm?

Would you share any of those scenarios if you have?

It's something I'm considering, but would like to know more from those who have.
It helps to have military experience. Nerves were under control.
ETA: I've had circumstances where I was open carrying and had to make it known too.

I had both my arms replaced with gatling guns so I can tell people I'm unarmed but really I'm armed.
