I mean, it makes a huge difference. New Orleans and South Florida are tremendously worse during the June to Sept timeframe due to humidity.

Water.... its the resource that will be talked about the most soon They don't have enough

They actually do a great job of managing their water supply. Arizonians in the know are not concerned. It’s the outsiders that get concerned on their behalf.

Elderly mother and her sister live in Tucson. They like it, cost of living is good, I am bored to tears every time I visit.

Great golf, decent weather most of the year, decent food scene - so mostly decent.

Awesome.

North Scottsdale is beautiful, and close to Sedona and Flagstaff...

Great restaurants, nightlife, hiking, excellent gun ranges and golfing.

despite having over 1 million people in the metro area, tucson still feels like a smaller city. at least it did when i lived there for school. it looks like a truckstop from the interstate, but getting into the catalina foothills, sabino canyon, up mount lemmon, or into the desert is quite beautiful. great mexican food, awesome outdoor acitivies, lots to do because of the u of a as well. i lived in the foothills, but there are more suburban type areas (oracle, oro valley, and marana) if that is your thing. 3.5 hour drive to the white mountains of eastern arizona to be totally surrounded by thick forests, high-mountain lakes and trout streams.

i still have a house in phoenix (uptown - i don't think i could do any of the suburbs) and there are parts of the valley that would rightly earn the nickname "phoenix, america's methiest city" but there are also incredible areas like the biltmore, camelback, paradise valley, and north scottsdale. a ton of stuff to do, a ton of outdoor activities, an airport that makes for easy flights almost anywhere and easy access to prescott, sedona, and flagstaff. the entire valley just decamps to the cool mountains in the summer, or heads west to socal. endless, endless, sprawl in every direction but easy to get around (unless you are going north on 17 in the summer).

Greater Pheonix has more population than the entire State of Louisiana and is 100x cleaner.

Amazing.

i mean, for the most part sure.

but there are spots like guadalupe, el mirage, youngtown, maryvale, the avenues (unless you are in far-flung exurbs like vistancia or maybe closer, arrowhead ranch), the zone downtown before they evicted the tweakers, murder mile, etc that are complete shite.

Having lived in both Louisiana and Arizona I definitely disagree. If you are doing yard work outside you will know how hot you are and more likely avoid fatal heatstroke in Louisiana. You can be in deep dog shite in Arizona before you realize you are in trouble.

Also just walking from the car to the building where you work in Arizona can give you tan lines on your arms and legs. The radiation there is really bad because there is no cloud cover. There are actually pretty cool maps showing the UV exposure that demonstrate this (NASA satellite data I think) and pretty much matches the skin cancer incidence rates.

My favorite part about these threads are the people who've never lived outside of LA and have strong opinions about why the place you mention sucks.

I lived in both places too, and while you are correct about UV exposure, no one on the planet would say Louisiana's weather is better than Arizona.

Humidity sucks, all the time.

You get up earlier in the summer to run, and you're fine.

Good looking women and good Mexican food but that’s all I got.

No.

Not the people, the place, of the politics (doesn't matter if you are conservative or liberal, they are all versions of cast off California types even if they grew up elsewhere).

Phoenix is soulless, tempe is better but blander. The suburbs are nightmares.

Oddly, my wife considers the Phoenix symphony one of the best in the country. She has family there so we go.

We lived in Gilbert 35 years and back in LA now. So much I miss there.
If you love the outdoors it's a great place.
If you're a foodie it's a great place.
If you hate living in cold weather but enjoy day trips to snow it's a great place.
If you love photography it's a great place.
If you love beautiful women it's a great place.
If you're disgusted with illegals it's not so great.
