I'm fricking waiting. Seems like people have been doing this for 20+ years.
A lot of time it lasts until they retire. Many people downsize.
Or they just leave debt to their heirs.
Most people want to leave their kids inheritance I would assume.

Hmm. Claim to be a crackpot attorney and options trader yet still fixing your car to save a few bucks. Seems to me your time would be better spent trading and ambulance chasing. Because I can guarantee your mentor Jeff Bezos isn't changing his own oil.
Money is not the motivation for me. I like the challenge to learn how to repair things. It’s just an example of how other people can do these things if saving money is a concern to them.
I don’t like the state of law practice. I was told it was an honorable profession. It most certainly is not and I don’t miss it. The options don’t take much time and is also a mental challenge.
Bezos is not my mentor. I like Elon Musk.

*Back to top Record Holiday spending - nope
* paying 1k car payments per vehicle - nope
* living in 1 million dollar houses - nope
* spending 10 dollars on ground beef - nope
* taking international trips every quarter - yep
* I guess I got left out lol.
Live within your means and pay cash or payoff everything except your house. Only thing on your list we have is the quarterly trips.

If you could afford it you wouldn’t be paying $1300 a month. You’d buy it all in cash

I saw a bill of sale for a new suburban this week. Couldn’t believe how bad the person was at negotiating their trade in because they got $8k for something that was easily worth $12k…then I realized that the $8k was being added back to the purchase price because of an upside down note.
People make terrible financial decisions. Like how do you buy an $80k vehicle when you still owe $20k on something nearly a decade old? Loan amortizations are front loaded with interest, so if one were to repeat this process every 5 years they are going to compound their problems. Meanwhile, the car markets continue to increase, because lenders don’t seem to have a problem with this practice.

If I’m paying $1300 a month for a car the price will start with a 2. $1300 is insane for a tundra
