The abuse of easy credit is causing a lot of problems.
My wife's nephew makes over 100k a year in his mid 20s and is filing for bankruptcy. He asked us for help (a big loan to pay off debts) and i told my wife frick no.
I told that fricker for several years that he didn't need half the shite he was making payments on, but he wouldn't listen.
Oh and those frickers get like 30 pounds of ground beef and ground bison a month and other stuff from the Indians. It's just plain ridiculous.

Maybe, but I also plan on retiring by 50 and our number is liquid 5 excluding home values so it’s surprising

I know this dude in his 30s that has a paid off Tundra with only 80K miles on it. I was visiting with him and he's talking about getting some $90K Lexus SUV. He barely makes above 100K. I tried to reason with him but he's all about keeping up appearances for some reason.

Getting credit in this country is insanely easy. Almost no one is truly maxed out on their credit limit, you can always find a lender

Plenty, and they are all full

It sure seems like everyone is rich but they are mostly over leveraged or inherited wealth.
My girlfriend and I are in our early 30s and about half our friends have $400-1mm homes and make about the same as we do (a little over $200k combined). Over half of those people had parents buy them houses or at least pay down payment. We both live in apartments trying to save for down payment and retirement and are scared to buy a house as it will be $4500 per month including taxes.
These other people have houses, $80k cars, and a lot have kids in $2k per month daycare. Does not make sense

This isn’t typical and if you can’t afford a $400k house on $200k income, I don’t know what to tell you.

If this were true, it wouldn’t be typical so what’s your point?

My ex thinks I’m rich. Which is why I got the hell away from her, I figured out she thought she hit the jackpot.

We could definitely do the $400k home. Just scared if taking on a fixer upper and the bad schools

I’d be envious about this. Are you posting out of jealousy?

No, just pointing out his hypocrisy.

Rich? No
Deep in crippling debt they’ll never pay back? Yes

The OTs go to answer for everyone doing better then themselves, regardless of knowing actual circumstances

When speaking in generalities, they’re correct… which is what they’re doing
Why are you so insecure?

I'm not insecure about anything, I just think that assumption is cope.
