No, Texas blows arse. Texans are too full of themselves. I have more reason to return to Louisiana because of family and absolutely no reason to go to your shitty state.

This largely depends on what industry you are working in. In Louisiana, it's more accurate to say that outside of specific industries, you are going to have a hard time finding a good job.

Also, consider that "good job" is subjective. What's good enough for some isn't good enough for others.

Example: If you want a teacher job paying approximately 40K a year, there are plenty of those jobs if you go for certification. But if you dont want to do that for the rest of your life, you need to reevaluate yourself.

I find the service workers have a better grasp of English here in Houston than their south Louisiana counterparts

Never once heard of someone moving to the city of dreams Houston to make it big. I lived there for a year and it was fricking miserable

That really is an understatement. New York is America. It's where the money starts.

The ‘T’ in TOPS stands for Texas

The states with the most residents who moved to Texas during that time period are:

California - 62,767
Florida - 35,188
Louisiana - 26,469

26,469 moved to TX from Louisiana 2015-2016

Shite man, I thought that LSU grads were just expected to move to Houston after graduation.

I mean ya'll have 3 alumni chapters in H-town alone.

Weird. I’ve lived in Louisiana for 60 years and have always had a good job. Maybe these migrants aren’t talented enough to be employed in Louisiana. Heck even illegals can find “work” in Texas. Doesnt take talent. If u can make in Louisiana you can make it anywhere.

Or maybe we're tired of the one horse pony that is O&G in Louisiana....yeah theres jobs but not enough that provide clear advancement opportunity, there is a reason Louisiana's population is declining, but a good ole boy like you wouldnt understand why i guess

I lived in Memorial (between Loop and Beltway) in the 80's, and loved it. Office was near the Summit (now a mega church) Public schools were as good as the best private ones here in Louisiana.

Housing outside of Beltway 8 is twice the home for half the money as anywhere in BR, or was a decade ago.

Just hang out where people go to take a smoke break outside Galleria area office buildings, and they are talking excitedly about millions on this deal or that being made. I ain't talking about anything close to senior management of major firms either.

I agree with this. High paying jobs are at a premium, but if youre good at what you do it dosent matter. If youre average to bad then there are no high paying jobs here unless youre a relative.

Lived in Dallas for a bit, I think it's a lot better than Houston, although I'd rather live in Ft. Worth. Little slower pace, down to earth people, and still a lot to do.
