Try to get a colonoscopy covered before age 40.
A colonoscopy is an invasive medical procedure that requires sedation. It places the patient at risk for complications including death from the sedation, bowel perforation, etc. you cannot just walk in and get this done. There has to be an indication for the procedure and the inherent risk.

Or an EKG done
You can get an ekg done damn near anywhere

Or a CT
Again, there has to be an appropriate indication. You are irradiating your body, increasing your chances of cancer. Also, if the CT requires contrast, we have to check your kidney function first.

That's generally a good sign of them making too much money to keep their non-profit status so the money gets pushed to expansion and more administrators.
Exactly!!!
And then who gets cut in the RIF? low level mangement and front-line workers. I've never seen anyone above "manager" let go, and they sure as shite aren't going to stop contstruction on anything.

As part of a routine yearly check up or due to a diagnosis?

My daughter is dealing with some weird neurological condition and has an auto immune disease. She’s never had to wait that long for MRI’s, ECG’s, or that kind of stuff. She is having to wait 6 months to see a specialized neurologist in Houston, but that’s because of how specialized this office is. She could get in within 2-3 months or sooner with some random neurologist.

I personally got an MRI within a week last week

Absolutely.
Its going to get destroyed by AI, and financial austerity.

Worst healthcare system among any developed country. Run by insurance and drug companies and a cost that isn’t practical one bit.

If I remember correctly, the largest employer in Alabama is UAB, primarily due to the UAB hospital system.

Immunizations are covered, colonoscopies are covered, mammograms are covered, labs are covered, tobacco, alcohol, and drug misuse and nutritional screenings are covered, social determinants of health screenings are covered. HPV testing and Paps are covered for women. Depression screenings. Health risk assessments are covered. Hep B and Hep C screenings are covered. I mean, the list goes on an on.
Except the average American is not doing any of this.
The last data suggest less than 10% of Americans are getting routine recommended clinical services

If Americans were truly worried about their health they would be more concerned about their diet, physical activity, not smoking/drinking/drugs and less concerned about what they feel like they don’t have access to.

Not bloated. It has no mission anymore. It is not about heling a patient of curing the sick. It is controlled by the ponzi scheme of insurance that pits provider against attorney with the patient losing all the time.
Add to that no medical profession is being taught healing or nutrition only testing and filing insurance paperwork.

It's almost like politicians and liberal arts majors don't understand when you dump trillions of dollars into one industry, the costs associated with that industry suffer massive inflation.

Type 2 Diabetics are ruining our healthcare system
They clog up ERs and specialist schedules, and federal law prevents them from having to pay higher monthly premiums than non-type 2 diabetics
Im surprised you weren't downvoted to oblivion. Anytime you criticize someone's "muh freedumz to eat slop" because of this, it's usually downvoted.

Yeah the healthcare system in this country is fricked because of illegal immigrants. Holy shite what an idiotic take. Obese you’d have a point but illegal immigrants?! Boomers getting access to Facebook was a huge mistake. Zuckerberg has burned a hole in your brain brother.
You do when you have to pay $150 for an acetaminophen pill.

Tell that to my friend on workmans comp who can't get an MRI until April.
Typically you have to get X-rays and then PT before they order an MRI. My daughter got one same day after ortho visit so your claim sounds dubious at best.
