I just bought my wife a 15 explorer sport. She loves it. Ended it up right at 44k.
Those rear seatbelts have airbags built in. Thought that was pretty cool for the kids. That EcoBoost is no joke. It'll run.

4Runners looked so much better before Toyota turned them into a soccer mom vehicle

4 runner unless you want transmission problems then go with the Jeep.

Is this a joke? 4Runner will last forever, Jeep will fall apart.

Our 06 GC has transmission problems. Also electrical issues.. It is a piece of shite and I won't buy another one. OP should get the 4 runner.
It's also really small if you have a family.

I have a Tacoma 4x4 and the wife has a Grand Cherokee. Both are quality trucks but, the Tacoma is the better of the two. The Jeep is getting very noisy due to air leaks around the door seals. It is annoying. No mechanical problems with either vehicles.
I would get the 4runner.

Have 194K on my 99 4Runner, and it's running like a champ. Reliability is truly underrated.

We've had three different models of grand Cherokees. Each has improved tremendously. I sold a 2005 a few years ago. 116k miles and still running strong. 4Runners are nice too but I'm a jeep guy.

I agree with this. I would not buy a JGC older than a '2014. I have a 2015 Overland and love it so far. Good friend's wife just bought a new 4Runner and it is nice also, but they are too different to really compare against each other. I wanted something that felt a little sportier to drive and did not feel like a tank since my previous ride was an Avalanche.

My wife and I just went through this debate. Between jeep, 4runner,and Explorer. The Explorer was more bang for the buck and it wasn't even close. To get the features we got in the Explorer we would have paid over 50k for the Jeep or 4runner.
Love the Explorer.

one of them is not like the other. The 4Runner and JGC are the only 2 real SUV's left in today's market. I don't think I'll ever own anything other than a 4runner.

The Limited 4Runner we looked at was around $42k. I've never seen one over $50k. What did it have? And what does the explorer have that the 4runner and jeep didn't?
