why do you dislike them?
Where to start? They ride like tanks, they drive like landships, their tech (comparatively) sucks.
Look, if you live up a mountain, or are doing some serious off-roading...I get it (but there are still better options).
But there hasn't been a jeep I've driven that I've said, "man, I like how this feels."
They just aren't comfortable.

This. Some of the lower marks on reliability and owner satisfaction. They figure out one problem, another pops up. The biggest problems electrical, suspension, the drive system, ect, etc.
But get one if you don’t mind dealing with problems, spending time in the dealerships waiting rooms.

Jeep owner here and love it. However check engine light is always on and I’m always having to fix something.

Get a used year 24 4Runner that has the 6 banger. It’s just as capable as the jeep, it doesn’t feel likes it’s made out of plastic, and you won’t be living at the mechanics shop.

Don't buy Stellantis products. Ever. Absolute dog shite.

I got into a 2yr lease on a gladiator to see if I’d like it
It’s a fun vehicle, pretty much impossible not to smile on a pretty day with the top off.
It’s not really comfortable, good for long trips, or “practical” from a price/performance standpoint.
After my lease is up, I will probably buy a real truck and consider buying a 2door jeep as a weekender toy that doubles as an ATV. I wouldn’t main a jeep.

I bought a 2025 Gladiator Rubicon in July. This is the first Jeep I have ever owned. So far, I love it. I do not haul or pull a lot. Typically the most I haul on my trailer is a 4 wheeler or lawnmower. I got it because I wasn’t going to pay what they want for full size 4 wheel drive trucks and if I was going to get a smaller one, I wanted to get something I was excited about. Driving with the doors off is almost therapeutic for me. Screw what people think.

First and foremost the answer is buy what YOU want.
I have owned 3 4 door Wranglers and commuted from Mandeville to Metairie for years in them. I loved them and never had the problems people always mention.
I had 2 JK and one is still in my family and running great. Sold the 2nd JK and bought a 2.0 liter JL and never had any issues with the JL. 2.0 engine was great and it is probably better than that sluggish v6 they use.
I got rid of the JL for F150 since we bought a Wakeboard boat and there is no way a wrangler or gladiator would pull it.
The ride of a wrangler is what it is. if you like it then you buy the jeep. It never bothered me at all. I wont buy another one because I just don't want one. If i get the itch again, i wouldnt hesitate to buy one.

The only people I know that drive Wranglers like to go to the beach a lot
They're good for that I guess
But if you like jeeps buy a jeep

It’s so cringe every time a Jeep person goes out of their way to wave and acknowledge another Jeep driver

I’m on my second wrangler. No issues. No ducks. Not gay. Only oil and tire changes.
I have the automatic soft top on this one and it is a game changer. Top down every day.

For me it’s not about the culture or lifestyle. I have liked the way they look and I’m at the point in my life where a small truck is not going to negatively impact me. Only hobby I have is hunting so I am able to do that.
I know 2 people who have Gladiators and have 100 k miles on them and have not had issues.

I hate posting this as I am sure some catastrophic failure will immediately occur, but here goes.
I bought my daughter a 2010 wrangler for her first car in 2021. It had around 65,000 miles. Sport package so it has no power windows or locks. She has close to 80,000 miles on it now, haven’t had any problems. *Knocks on wood.
For a secondary, kids vehicle I have enjoyed it. It’s fun to drive in the fall and spring with the doors and freedom panels off. We never get ducks, so that’s a plus.

I’m currently in the same boat and definitely trying to decide what I wanna do. The explorer is getting old and I shifted jobs to where I do not drive 2000 miles a month any longer. Thinking about getting a jeep either two door or four door but keep getting stopped by my desire to own a vintage CJ five or CJ seven. Was exposed to those some in college and they’ve always been on my list. It wouldn’t be a daily driver, but on beautiful days and running up to the golf course I think it would be fun to have. I found some sites that redo jeeps all over the country and spend every evening trying to find the one that fits the bill. Would love some advice from some CJ owners on that and where to find the most reputable person to help with it.
