It really says alot about the times we live in. Our parents told us to go outside & do whatever we want just be back when the streetlights come on. Now those kids have grown up & feel the need to monitor their own children's every move.
And what about the kids? When I was a teenager, I would have despised my parents for making me use this. If I wanted to go to some girl's house or ride around town with my friends, there was no reason to have to explain it all in real time to my fricking Mommy.
The OT bitches everyday about kids in their twenties who act like helpless little children & this is the reason why: they're coddled under mommy & daddy's wing their entire childhood.

They don’t get it. They won’t get it until it’s too late.

Most people in this thread aren't parenting or raising their children. They're just full time babysitters. Nothing more. It's really sad actually.

Agree 100%. Trust is the foundation of every relationship. Trust your kids to make good decisions. Trust your spouse to make good decisions. And sometimes its best not to know stuff that we're not necessarily proud of. If my parents knew everywhere I went and everything I did it would have only caused us to argue more than teenagers normally do anyway.
This is 100% the feminization of America and anyone that disagrees is letting their wife run the household.

It's so ironic that their kids will grow up to be the very thing they say they hat about the next generation - and it's their own fault.
They use to bemoan our generation as "latchkey kids" , but that's a helluva lot better than having your parents hover over you like a vulture micromanaging your every move.

Oh they know it. That's why they defend such insane behavior. Deep down they know they've let their wives control their entire life. That's a tough pill to swallow so they come up with excuses like "safety" or "convenience" in a desperate attempt to salvage some semblance of manhood. What's said is that most probably consider themselves manly men because they drive a big pickup and go hunting from a deer stand every other weekend. But we know they're weak and indecisive man children.

My point with tracking is you're willingly giving your location to myriad companies, not that they're sitting there stalking you. But, I think you know that.
And as I've said on here before, I experienced all of high school and undergrad in the 90's. I totally get the amazing feeling of leaving the house and nobody knowing where I was! I drank a lot of Strawberry Hill at random field parties where I was most definitely supposed to be somewhere else. I get it. However, times have changed, and we're never going back.
I really think some of y'all have never been around modern teenagers. They TRACK EACH OTHER on Snap. Is it weird? Maybe, but it's how life is in 2024. It's not weird to them. Y'all are like little grandpas talking about the olden days and how we should just let Western Union handle our communication.

Oh yeah, the decision to download LIFE360 is always the wive's decision & the emasculated husband just goes along with it. This app was made for a nervous housewife.

Doesn’t make it any less weird for adults to use this because teenage kids have normalized it amongst each other.

Id be curious to hear what the wives would think if their husband said they wouldn't participate in it. Imagine if when two people got married the husband demanded to track the location of his wife 100% of the time. They would claim that is controlling and emotionally abusive behavior.

These Life360 stalkers probably bitch and complain about how soft the youth are today and blah blah blah
Nah both my kids are good kids that have a LOTmore freedom than I ever did at their age. My son has two jobs at 16 and has a 4.0 GPA. After a few normal teenage frickups, I trust him. If he’s out past 10PM I can open this app and check on him without texting him. If he’s a few minutes late getting home I can see where he is. When goes and stays with his grandparents they have the app and do the same. No shame whatsoever in how I parent.

Biggest boomer energy of all time.
I was able to do cool shite and had a great childhood which made me into the person I am today. Now that I’m an adult I’ve decided that my children don’t deserve the same.

A true miracle they've made it this far without their parents keeping them under constant surveillance.

When your wife's location starts glitching an hour here and an hour there don't blame it on a bad service area.
Happened to a buddy of mine, the whole time his business partner was giving her the root.

Boomer energy?
Dude, the reason gen X parents our kids this way is because our parents didn't! Our parents were dating and going to college in the 50's and 60's where they had a ton of social rules. When my mom started college, the women weren't even allowed to wear pants in public! They had to wear skirts and pantyhose to class.
Then the hippies came freed everyone from their social oppression. My parents generation (the actual boomers) just kind of said "frick it" and let us go wild as some kind of push back from the way they were raised. Gen X was the first generation EVER to have that kind of freedom as teenagers, especially girls.
And really, most of us look back on those times as really fun but also maybe a little too much. Like maybe, as a young teenage girl, someone should have known where I was? It's why you see a reversal in mindset opposing progressive feminism and a turn back to a more traditional framework.

Have you ever had a car with a navigation system? Owned a cell phone? Apple watch? Opened Waze or Google Maps? You're being tracked constantly and freely give that information to myriad companies filled with strangers.
I have none of that. The only one that is possibly tracking my every move is my phone carrier. That said, I don't bring my phone with me everywhere either.
Read the life360 policy I posted on pg4 and see they are selling even more of your data, for example "driving analytics services". At least some people still get upset about such stuff.
