So the actual % positive is damn near impossible to get due to lagging test results?

Is that an accurate assumption?

I trended it for a while at it seemed like after 5-7 days it had normalized and wasn't moving more than a tenth or two after that point. When testing delays are greater I would expect that number to stretch out.

The first 2-3 days saw movement of a couple percentage points at times.

I saw something about how Quest was doing their tests and that method could result in returning negatives faster than positives. However, if you read LDH's notes it says that negatives seem to be more likely to not be reported by labs in a timely manner.

Edited positives to negatives in the last paragraph.

I still just don’t get why results are delayed in reporting and why there is a difference between positives and negative

In general I guess positives have to be reported ASAP directly to the state and CDC.

It doesn't seem like there should be a huge delay with the positives though, but maybe someone will chime in with why they would be.

if you have 10 minutes or so to kill, it explains the recent logistics (youtube)

No idea, seems suspect. Especially since it was updated daily until JBE's presser last Tuesday.

Could be that they are trying to delay in order to have more normalized data before sharing.

Could be that they don't trust the numbers because they don't like the way they look.

Could be Jayce knows we are watching that stat and questioning so he is fricking with us

Remember folks, this is the equivalent of 2 days of shitty data from a government that is either willfully manipulating the numbers or willfully ignorant in regards to data compilation, statistics, and transparency.

What? That’s the opposite of what LDH says.

quote:

Some negative test results from commercial labs may not have been reported to the state.

Positives must be reported immediately, negatives are more of a “whenever” sort of thing.

Unless you’re reading a different set of notes than I am.

That comment about children under 18 making up more reported cases than 70+ sure seems strategically placed...

Surely not! I mean who in our state govt would want numbers to point toward a negative narrative? I can’t think of a single person. /sarcasm/

If I never hear the word narrative again once all this shite is over, it will still be too soon.

These figs can’t even break 2,000 cases a day anymore even with their mega testing.

A 10% positivity rate should tell us there are close to 90% of people that shouldn’t be getting tested in the first place. You can’t tell me 20k plus people per day are having covid symptoms

I don’t understand this. Who the hell are the 90% that THOUGHT they had it? Why wait in line for hours to get tested when you don’t even have symptoms?

It doesn’t take hours. The free testing sites in BR were ghost towns. Didn’t take more than 10 minutes.

I ain’t getting tested because I think they are actually giving it to you at the test sites.

Props to Yoga Girl for clueing me into what’s really going on.

They are also harvesting your dna for their planetary database. No thank you sir.
