Because most people don't want to sit around waiting hours for their car to charge in the middle of a road trip. The charging technology just isnt quite there.

how maybe EVs are there at southern. probably less than the amount of stations they are about to install.
I think you are out of touch and would probably be surprised by the number of black people who drive EVs.

What’s the price to charge an EV?

How many college students can afford hybrids and electrics?

If this is such a good, lucrative idea, why is the government the only group pushing it?
Tesla is having no problem selling vehicles.

What do you think would be the state of agriculture if not for subsidies? How about O&G?
Exactly. The energy sector as well (which includes oil) receives subsidies as well.. but how dare they put up EV charging stations..

Tesla is the only practical road trip EV because of the Superchargers. Any of them are good for around town.

They aren't. There's a frick load of capital getting dumped into this space right now. It's never been easier to get money.

It's been imagined. The answer is, it wouldn't work. People would die. Lots of people.

EV is the future - we need the infrastructure

We bought a new hybrid 4 years ago. Hybrids aren't anything like EVs. They run on gasoline. They look just like regular cars. You don't charge them at a station. They just get very efficient gas mileage.
That isn't pure enough for the Greens, however. Biden's new executive order leaves out hybrids in his demand that by 2030 50% of all cars must be EVs.

I have 1 hybrid, which I only bought because of the 7500 rebate.
I wonder the thought process behind moving so any people to electric cars when china owns a large portion of the battery market and we have been having grid issues already. seems like a weird move.

I never thought I would agree with you, but this is a face.
People are always complaining about how corrupt our government is, how bad the education is, etc, etc.. They are the ones who keep putting the same people back in office. These politicians love the "brain drain" because they can get all the idiots to believe all the bullshite they sell to them.

Sorry, not interested in purchasing a $10,000 battery every 5 years.
People want to be stupid and play dumb, it's really weird.

To me the funniest part of the ev debate is that the US manufacturers have the first real opportunity in decades to take market share back from the Japanese companies and reestablish themselves as the world dominant industry leaders. Honda, Nissan and Toyota are woefully behind on ev development compared to US and European manufacturers.
But the Patriots™ on here are full tilt against it.
