Along the roadways? I was downtown in Lafayette last Friday for lunch and someone rolled down the window on their shite box and threw out a bag of trash in the center of the street. That should be a night in jail.

We’ve got a great slogan here in Texas - “Don’t mess with Texas” - but it still doesn’t stop stupid people from littering the state. It bothers me greatly looking at all the trash littering our roads.

Why do you have trash in your truck?

I watched this happen right in front of me while sitting in traffic a few months back. Part of me couldn't believe what I was witnessing. Is that bag and cup sitting in your car going to bother you that much between now and when you get where you're going?

Ironically it happened on Airline right in front of BRPD HQ.

What was that Terry Bradshaw PSA about not putting trash in the back of your truck because it blows out?

There needs to be more enforcement for this.

“People” straight up walk into stores and steal whatever they want with no involvement from law enforcement. You think they are going to go after litterers? No chance.

Most people don’t throw thrash out of the window. They’re idiots that throw the styrofoam cup, beer can, coke can etc. in the bed of pickup truck then it blows out.

Can't imagine this would be cost effective, especially after factoring in all the requisite graft and corruption entrenched in LA politics.

I've worked inside the homes in/around SELA for nearly a decade, and I can tell you that folks don't just "get trashy" when they're behind the wheel. The squalor and downright filth inside many homes is appalling.

Often find myself driving along and wondering why we can't design some kind of industrial vacuum cleaner to use--especially in high traffic areas where litter is OOC. I am certainly a proponent of using prisoner labor, but it seems like there should be a way to basically sweep large swaths of highway shoulders/ditches using some kind of vacuum.

Idk I see inmates picking up trash on my drive to work every other week and in between it's filled with trash. But I think you are right to an extent. However, there is a major problem with people littering and throwing trash in truck beds that flies out. It is extremely evident when you enter LA from MS, ARK, or TX on any road, as soon as you hit the state line you start seeing trash.

I was getting off the interstate at Prairieville exit Wednesday and the woman in front of me threw a full shopping bag out her window. I honked my horn at her and she just flipped me off. I wanted get out the truck, grab the bag, open her door and throw it in her face.

I think it’s both.

We have a highly incarcerated population, why are they not picking up trash?

Utah might be the cleanest state I've ever visited.
What could be the difference between Louisiana and Utah to cause this disparity?

Louisiana was 1st in NFL talent per capita until this year when Georgia finally caught up. Now we're 2nd!

Report their license plate to LSP. The game warden are the people that serve them a ticket or etc. They are usually looking for something interesting to do besides deal with fishing licenses. It works, turn people in when you see it. Take a pic of the Lic plate or call in the license plate and report it.
