Driving earlier. Lots of cars with flashers. In the mix... a jacked up expedition with no lights on at all weaving in and out of traffic.

Ive been on i20 between Monroe and Shreveport numerous times where it rained so hard you wouldn't have been able to see the people in front of you or be able to follow the road if they didn't have their hazards on. Not to mention with 18 wheelers zooming all over the place. Not sure why people think people shouldn't use them in storms. Especially if a car is parked in a storm, as many will do in smaller cars.

I get in fights with my wife because she likes to turn on hazards,
And when I'm driving I yell at her for touching the button. It should be on left side of steering wheel, not in middle under radio.

because its dangerous and illegal. If you can't see without flashers, pull off the road and stop because there's no way you have enough reaction time to stay out of an accident.

What if the driver with the hazard lights on is an illegal alien?

DUMB, you can actually see the vehicles in front of you if they have flashers on in an downpour. Get caught in ATL or Houston on a six lane in a downpour and you will be glad they drive with flashers on.

I have and no Im not glad..it sucks when you cant see in a downpour and you have a dozen cars with flashers on in 6 different lanes.....just put your lights on.....I can see your break lights just fine...I dont need to see your flashing amber lights in a driving lane.

bullshite. They shouldn't use them in storms for the reasons mentioned in the tweet and the subsequent answers.

People drive too fast in the inclement weather is the problem. Get caught in an lane b/t 18 wheelers going 70 and in the spray, you can't see shite but the flashing lights. Keep your distance and you won't have to worry about the brake lights in front of you. I prefer to follow vehicles w/ flashers on in a downpour on a major Interstate highway.

Is the argument that it's illegal and therefore shouldn't be done? If that's your position, I have some questions about Louisiana drivers...

You can’t be saved. Lol. If you have to have this explained to you, you need to surrender your license.

Do you mean to infer that "I don't read well . . . ." I've personally been in tight situations where I was thankful for the drivers in front and behind having on their hazards. Is it "illegal" sure, fine. I'll bet most of you lamenting about people driving with flashers in inclement weather also speed regularly, exhibit road rage, and hog the left lane, So I take little solace in your opinion on my personal anecdotes on the situation.

People driving with hazards in are the same that ride their bikes through town against traffic.
