I imagine someone whoever restored and maintained this place is not from "old money".

Or maybe they just wanted to update the bathroom? You know, for personal reasons. Cause they own it. I know some old money folks who enjoy modern amenities. Are you suggesting they don't?

You're missing the point.

It's not about not liking modern amenities, they're great, but if your going to have a house like that, as keep it traditional (as they obviously do) throughout the rest of the house. Why ruin it with something that looks so out of place?

Yea I get it, it's their house and their money yadda, yadda. It's still ugly and they're selling it now so other people are allowed to, and will critique it.

An antique-style clawfoot tub with shower ring would make it look so much better and actually make sense for the rest of the house.

Man, that house is stunningly beautiful! I am fascinated with the finishes in pic 22/50.

They could give me that house for free and I still couldn’t afford the upkeep and utilities on it!

Yes, beautiful home. But, man with a 180 year old home, the purchase price is just the start! Imagine the annual maintenance, landscaping expenses, etc., involved in owning a place like that! No thanks.

Jay Z should buy. There is a recently open market for questionable parties.

I always wanted my own cemetery. Needs a good bit of sheetrock work in that one room though so that's a dealbreaker for me.

What a beauty! And a great price tag.

In my overpriced part of the world $2mil buys an average house with a 3-5 acres.

Hope someone who truly cares about its history and heritage buys and cares for it!
