Don't forget about burnt orange, poppy red and coppertone.

Besides the knob polisher standing there, there is absolutely zero attractive elements to this kitchen. Laminated wood grain cabinets, Formica countertops, and what the frick is that flooring? Looks like carpet from a black strip club. It looks like a first year architecture student modeled all of the finish patterns after his vomit pile in the gutter of bourbon st. I can only pray that OP is not allowed to select finishes in his or any other house.

I have seen some modern kitchens that were a lot worse than that, especially those with a oversized island than made you feel you were walking around the block to get from one side to the other.

good point, a very much missed household feature
Not at my house. I have a rectangular table with 4 chairs in my kitchen and do a good bit of prep work on it prior to cooking and sit there when things on the stove need frequent attending to.
Break out a deck of cards and play some Solitaire, do some crossword puzzles, balance the checkbook, etc. to pass the time.
Yeah, I'm old--------------and loving it.

Back when GE actually made great appliances.
The oven in my first house was a Frigidaire made by General Motors. Thing was built like a bank vault.

You certainly sound fun.
Everything about that kitchen, except for the coil stove, is awesome.
What is that by the pass through to what I presume is the dining room? Radio/intercom thing? WAY to early to be a microwave...

electric coil stove, gross
Many women of that generation could still remember the days of having to make a fire and cook over a hot arse wood burning stove. They thought the "ugly" electric was a gift from God. Turn a knob, cook. Amazing.

Don't forget your pearls.... while vacuuming.

My mom always lined the little bowl thing under the coils with aluminum foil. When it was time to clean, my job was to change that out. Always hated doing that for some reason.

I'll go even further back and say give me Monet's kitchen in Giverny with some modern appliances. That thing is absolutely gorgeous.

Mrs. Cleaver
read a story about her pearls, apparently she had a scar on her throat that looked like a puncture wound or trach scar, and even though the pearls fit in with the setting they were to hide that scar

No one wants to talk about the fact that she has her own table & chair in the kitchen so she can relax while waiting for the food to cook instead of bothering the rest of the family in the tv room?

I cook on a coil hot plate at camp. Its fine, not as good as gas but still fine.
Hotpoint came out with its first electric range in the early 1900's. Both my grandmothers went from wood stoves to electric.
