that your takeaway? He pressured me to meet with him 10 days after I had a baby, courted me to work for him for a year, lied about the work conditions to bait me then offered to pay me $35k less than the last person who had the same position (for only 18 months). All while calling me incessantly to pressure me to take his shite offer. This is just unprofessional behavior.
This similar situation has happened to me several times. I usually just tell them I'm not interested after further research or ghost them entirely if that doesn't work. It sucks but you're not immune to it because you're a woman and think you're entitled to special treatment and then go on a misandrist tirade.

I read (sorta) the first 4 pages and I’ve come to the conclusion that:

It’s a state job. He doesn’t set rates for classified jobs (which is what he had you interview for), the state civil service does. He’s not trying to “use you for cheap labor.”
I missed this…..although I don’t feel like reading all the pages in this.
Yeah if it’s civil service he can wiggle some numbers but I think she (they/them not sure what to call it…don’t want to offend) said that the last person was making 35k more. I have a very hard time believing this.
However I did just leave my screw over all women weekly meeting and today’s lecture was how we can screw over liberal women.

Sounds like you just need to delete this dude from your life and block his number.

It was an unclassified position. He told me “I can pay you whatever I want” multiple times.

Surprise surprise, here we are on page 10 and the woman still can't simply admit she was wrong.

I said “I knew he had boundary problems but I didn’t know he was an a-hole.”
This might be the problem. In his mind it was away to keep you in his life. And there was no plan to hire you. Was anything he said total bullshite? When he couldn't offer you more for the original he then mentions the job that wasnt advertised because in his mind, as long as he made you think he could offer you something you would continue to communicate with him.
Is he a low self confidence guy?

State civil service still sets a general range for unclassified positions. Anything outside of that has to be approved by the commission.

OP has been deleted so I can only piece together thru comments, but this stuck in my craw as a big red flag.

This is what I experienced with 90% of the women I dated before I met my wife. Unless you're lucky like me and find a unicorn. I see why a lot of dudes are becoming passport bros or are staying perpetually single. It's a constant uphill battle with these women.
They complain about not being treated equally but when it comes to equal work or equal difficulty, they fold like towels.
I saw a comment on Reddit today that made me chuckle because it was so true. A bunch of women were complaining about men that don't contribute exactly 50% to wedding planning.
One woman came into the thread and said, "I did most of the wedding planning for my wedding. It was fine with me... I've also never mowed the lawn in my life."
You constantly see people online bitching that men don't "do their share" of housework. And are some of them probably valid? Sure. But they're conveniently leaving out the fact that most women have never so much as touched the lawnmower, the weed eater.. hell, the outdoor trash can in some instances!.. in their lives.
It's like some women have the most skewed idea of equality.

This woman is obviously choosing the same from a wide spectrum; just like men have a type that sparks their interest.
Most men here wouldn't like my selections but that's 0K because I'm not into the same makeup wearing dainty Misses that spark their fancy. This lady needs to consider why she's so unhappy with her selections... instead of asking why am I attracting these chumps... maybe ask what are they seeing in me.

My ex was like that. I made 80% of the income, fixed her car 8x because she was too dumb to learn basic car maintenance, fixed her AC twice because of the same thing, cooked and washed dishes at least 4 days a week, and watched her kid (that wasn't even mine) while she went to work. Still constantly bitched about me not doing enough. I left her, married a Latina, and now she's living with her parents.
