What we don't know is how much erosion has occurred around the base of the dam.
it already took out the service buildings on the right side; i cant imagine they planned for water hitting at that angle; eventually its going to erode enough around the side of the dam to weaken the whole structure.

eta 100 year old concrete vs full on mother nature.

i'm taking mother nature's side on this one.

Every once in awhile you can see pieces of asphalt from the road breaking off. And it seems like more of the bottom side of the house is exposed now.

The old man down in the quarter says the water will be down by the morning, and he'll be back to Illinois.

How much would you have to be paid to go stand in the middle of that dam for twenty minutes?

Very big chunk of the bank to the right of the tree slipped away a second ago. Probably 20' wide

Yeah, needs to zoom back in a bit. I have it on my big screen TV all kinds of distracted and glued

Sitting here wondering how they plan to assess the downstream side of the concrete dam. The center section has some really violent flow we can barely see under that boulder

You could maybe catch fish from your garage though.

I think the tree goes first, but the water is moving more rapidly closer to the house than it is the tree. But 80% of the house foundation is still holding the rest together while the tree is half way ready to go. The water is moving more rapidly under the house, and it seems like the bulk of the water is diverted away from the tree.

Real toss up. I want to see the house go. I mean, I don't WANT it to go, but if it is going to go, I want to see it. Unless its some cheating bitch like that guy on page one mentioned.
