She's distracting you while she's in the planning stages..... Your bank accounts will be emptied soon. Start stashing CASH now.

PRO TIP - When you go to the grocery, take an extra $20-40 "CASH BACK" out at the register each time.
The "Cash back" won't show on your bank statement, only on the receipt. The bank statement will just show the total purchase amount.

she doesn't want child support

I was there once. My ex waited 4 years after the divorce, then suddenly "couldn't live without some financial help". For the record, she remarried within a year and now lives in a larger house than I do. STILL, she wants child support.

And yea she's going to want and get that child support. Just wait.

Property is easy if you both agree.

Custody and getting out of child support is not. If you work and she doesn’t, you’ll get weekend custody and pay CS

Child support ends at 21 in Mississippi.

Funny they did not extend that to 26 like Health Insurance.

This sounds insane. The govt dictated that you’d split the cost (paid to the govt) of something to an independent adult?

Mississippi doesn’t recognize adulthood until the age of 21. Our parents had to sign for our marriage too.

To answer your question, yes, they're still brother and sister.

What's with all the divorce threads?

I'd guess it's money. Inflation is high, and it's been that way. I think if you ask most people that are divorcing they'd say no, but it can be subconscious. Not getting ahead for multiple years in a row can start to weigh on people.

I only knew that because that's what SHE did to me. I kept wondering why my grocery bill suddenly jumped an extra $200 a month. A good friend said "she's probably taking cash out every time she runs that ATM card."

Oh well, lesson learned. I'm way better off today than when I was married to her.
