Monday's first world problem

I got to work to find that the battery in my wireless mouse was dead. I checked it and it uses a single AA battery. I walked to the supply cabinet to grab a few. Changed it out and figured I might as well change the batteries in my keyboard as well. The keyboard uses AAA batteries. The mouse and the keyboard are bought as a set. I had to walk back to the supply cabinet and dig around for AAAs. Why couldn't they make them use the same freakin' battery type?

Clothes dryer stopped working yesterday. Repair guy can't come for over a week. Did laundry and hung clothes on balcony railings.

Was the keyboard dead?

Why waste time and effort changing out batteries that aren't yet dead?

That's like emptying your gas tank because it has 1/8th left.

I had to make a latte this morning and turn the seat warmers on in my car so I didn't get cold on the way to work!

You should complain to HR about your harsh working conditions, but you could have violated a policy by not entering an IT ticket for the "repairs" to your mouse and keyboard.
