I'm not 100 percent on this because it's been since 09 but everyone then that entered DEP was fast tracked to E3. At least that's what the recruiter said lmao. I was disqualified at MEPS so don't know if i would've gotten it or not.

You're in luck, I searched before posting, it's still valid across all services according to .mil websites. The BSA information is apparently outdated.

Looks like they renamed delayed entry program to future soldiers but requirements are the same if I recall.

Well it’s quite an achievement. Congratulations. It’s just so said that it’s not the Boy Scouts any longer. It’s society’s continued attempt to emasculate males. I’m glad he pushed through all that because I know that becoming an Eagle Scout is a challenge.
My nephew was an Eagle Scout before the purpose of the institution was destroyed. It was a part of him being accepted to West Point.

Find a good troop with lots of willing parents and your scout should have plenty of opportunity to get his Eagle. Our troop has several ‘old timers’ who haven’t had kids in the troop in 20 years, yet are still coming to meetings and staying active. That kind of leadership is priceless and helps tremendously.
About a month ago, our Scoutmaster met with him and me separately and basically said ‘he’s not going to age out- we can’t let that happen. He is the embodiment of scouting and he needs to get his Eagle, so I’m going to do my best to make it happen.’ And with his help, we got all the partial Merit Badges complete, found our project and completed it. Now it’s just paperwork.

I’m an Eagle Scout. Disagree what scouts have become, but congrats to your son. Not an easy task.

Congratulations! My youngest son and I are Eagle Scouts. This is a great accomplishment by your son. When I ran my company, I hired 5 Young men who were Eagle Scouts. Seeing this on a resume will open doors.

Absolutely, it is quite an accomplishment that very few people complete. This should be on every resume that he ever prints or emails, even when he is fifty.

Do people really give a shite about something you did when you were a teenager after your first job?

This made me wonder if there is a Girl Scout equivalent of Eagle.
Google AI says it is called the Gold Award.
I’ve literally never heard of a gal earning a Gold Award.

Yes. The answer is yes. It’s a lifetime achievement that carries a lot of weight well into adulthood

Not really. Unless you’re black

Did it require transitioning?

My son’s best friend in high school earned his Eagle. He also played football and baseball and is a hell of an outdoorsman. Loves to duck and deer hunt and avid bass fisherman. He is a very strong Christian and has a great job now and a beautiful wife. He and my son are still good friends and I am very glad for my son to have a friend like him. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the young man and his parents who did a tremendous job raising him.

Congratulations! One of the kids in my troop growing up similarly got it done right before his birthday. Whether you cross the finish line at 14 or 17, it’s still a huge accomplishment.

Congratulations!
It's more of an accomplishment than most realize.
I remember it well.
Eagle Scout 1982
Troop 128 Baton Rouge
Multiple Eagle Scout projects but the big one was painting a number of the rooms inside the USS Kidd before it opened to the public in 1983
