That’s awesome! Keep encouraging him and reminding him how proud you are of his accomplishments.

Dad, aka zoomie zoom, take him to a nice dinner of his choice tonight or tomorrow. Buy him an expensive meal. He and you deserve it. Love news like this.

Congrats!
I'm knowledge on federal hiring authorities. Schedule A is great, it is non competitive, meaning a hiring official can go out and find a good candidate, without have to post anything online and having every veteran in America.
You just have to make sure the candidate's disability lines up with the position, which it seems like a good match in your son's situation. You don't want to hire someone hard of hearing for a public facing position or some in a wheelchair for a warehouse job.

Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing young people succeed despite tremendous obstacles coupled with hard work. Your son, doubly so.
I’m sure he had plenty of loving encouragement along the way.
Congratulations as well, Dad.

As someone who loves history and the outdoors, I'm kind of jealous lol... sounds like a cool job!!
Congrats to you both!

So many people abuse this…I’m very glad it actually worked as intended for your family.

That’s awesome. I have a good friend whose son was just diagnosed with autism. It takes encouragement and some hard work, but they are working through it and starting early. I’m optimistic. Some of those kids turn into super people with amazing abilities. It’s really incredible

I am so happy and proud of him - I am literally crying tears of joy that he is now a productive member of society! He is living proof of why it’s important to be a beacon of hope and light when it’s easy to engage in name calling or inflammatory trolling.
WOW, thanks for sharing this beautiful story and congratulations on his achievements and your absolutely beautiful heart. Well done. I am proud to have read that. Amazing.

What makes it even more special is that he was hired under the Schedule A hiring authority, which allows individuals with disabilities to be hired more easily into federal positions.

That’s awesome. As a fellow parent I know that sense of pride when you see your little one start out on their career. I’m glad you got to experience this feeling and glad your kid got a job that sounds like he’ll both enjoy and excel in.

Very few feelings in life better than when you're proud of your kids.
Makes you want to run out and tell everyone you know…and those you don’t! Great work!
Found out yesterday my 129 pound freshman boy who’s never wrestled, made varsity! Yeah, yeah, it’s a predominantly white, upper-income school, but, hey.
