What’s the difference between .223 and .556 that our military uses all the time? .556 is also on public market. I have a Colt M4 which is literally the exact same thing I had in the military with only marginal differences between the public v military rifles. I don’t have burst fire but guess what, even GI Joe does not use burst fire. So losing that feature is no big deal at all. It is a waste of ammo and destroys accuracy. I am very pro gun rights but you need to call a spade a spade.
Military grade isn’t the issue here, and neither are guns. It’s the people committing these atrocities.
I don’t care if it’s military grade, it’s my right under the second amendment. In truth I ought to have access to full auto as well without a class III if we want to go there.
Edit: only punishing law-abiding, moral citizens, and empowering the tyranny of government with further gun restrictions.

The “murder rate was higher in the 90s” argument is kind of bull shite. More trauma centers near high crime areas and medical innovation are the only reason that is true.

Y’all all in here debating stupid shite but we still have no idea how many dead and whether the shooter/shooters are at large?

Ah yes, the Republican tactic as old as time "NUH UH, YOU ARE"
Claims others don't care about kids getting killed, while not only refusing to address the actual root of the issue, but actually perpetuating it and making it worse by pretending like it's some kind of god given right to own whatever and however many guns you want
The thing about rights is that they come with responsibilities, it's way past time for the right wing to grow the frick and take even the smallest amount of responsibility for these rights that you jack off to every night. Maybe if you take a moment to quit diddling kids in your churches every sunday and grooming children to marry at 12 then you might actually have a second to care about their lives

And the lack of mental healthcare in this country for the last generation is just one more or our societal issues that can be traced back to the Reagan administration
It started in the 60’s and 70’s when they started shutting down asylums and started putting those people on the streets thinking they would take care of their own prescriptions. Nice try at bringing politics into this though.

I watching Fox 6 news from Bham right now. The top of the hour headlines are:
1. Hostage situation in Fultondale
2. Abortion drug case going to SCOTUS
3. Start of USFL season.
Zero mention of Dadeville.
ETA: they just mentioned it. All they said is there was a shooting but they have no further details.

So now, caliber determines "military grade?" We're fricked.

Gun violence (homicides) were a record highs in the middle of the 1990s and then fell substantially between 2000-2008. They then rose again between 2008-2016 but the fell hard between 2016-2020. There has been a recent spike since 2020 due to massive social unrest.
There is something about those timelines that I just can't put my finger on.

So, if all guns in the country were confiscated and destroyed, there would be no more mass killings? People who are compelled to kill large groups of people will just change their mind?

Would you rather people just make up things like you did in your original post?
If you really cared about increasing gun violence (really all violence), you would immediately advocate for local politicians (mayors, DAs) that push hardline crime reduction policies like higher bail, sentences for violent criminals and increased funding for police presence.
You would also advocate for better federal monetary policy that would reverse Keynesian “print and push” currency policies that we’ve had since 2008.
But you aren’t going to do any of that because you can’t be bothered to take a few hours to actually research stuff before spewing your opinions.
So you don’t really care; at least not enough to lift a finger.
