It would be really nice if both sides of the political aisle could actually have a real conversation that wasn't full of rhetoric and not much else.
Only one side resorts to immediately wanting to ban inanimate objects instead of addressing the root cause.
I agree. But both sides have to be willing to really look at it. They yell to ban the objects. We yell back that it's not the reason. That's all that ever happens. Do you see Repubs truly asking for mental health funding? Do you see either side really looking into the tough potential reasons this happens? Nope. Because they don't every actually listen to anyone. Both sides live in an echo chamber and accomplish nothing.

violent video games
I've grown up with "violet video games" for at least 25 years of my life from a very early age and I can promise you've I've never had the urge to want to wipe out my elementary school.
Reread what I wrote. I said those are reasons that people give, not myself. That's why I used the rest of the world analogy.

Violence isn't.

The question is how to do you solve a problem if you don't know what is causing it? Like I said earlier, I don't know if it can be fixed which is very disturbing.
It would take an entire shift of our culture to solve this issue, but people are too lazy for that. This is why we see anti-gun idiots running around pushing for more laws. They don't have answers, but they're too weak to admit that.

apparently, it's not the trans girl either.

That's all that will ever happen until "they" accept that "we've" been correct all along.

A great post in a shitty thread.
Partisan politics and the echo chambers it creates are terrible for the country.

Premature in your ignorance.
Mental illness is a fragile disease. When you fabricate a identity, then you and you alone are responsible for maintaining it. Its very exhausting and not sustainable hence the suicide rate among the population. Even more evil is when one celebrates and condones the dysfunction. It feeds the disease.

Yes, I already mentioned this previously.

How much of this girls social media has to be wiped clean before giving us details? Jesus...

People are the problem. Thanks to the democrats coddling criminals. Or the mental nut running around bc we have no mental health safety net nor do they take mental health seriously. Guns don’t walk around shooting on their own.

Kind of. I'm identifying a specific group of people.

Um, there are calls to enact legislation to make it more difficult to acquire guns. I agree that banning specific weapons (i.e. banning AR-15s) is dumb because a gun is a gun. You can't ban them, and you certainly can't eliminate all of them. There are restrictions on weapons.
Republicans refuse to think that they should ban a SINGLE PERSON from having the ability to acquire a gun. They would rather die on the hill that the Second Amendment is untouchable and have more people die than blame themselves for not trying to find a safer solution to keep guns out of the hands of absolute nutjobs.

No shite. It's gone so well so far...let's try more!

This, of course, is bullshite. There are already restrictions in place, including a majority that are outdated and ineffective. Why aren't there calls to eliminate those restrictions when anti-gun zealots talk about "common sense gun safety" and "compromise?"

The Nashville shooter's name is Audrey Hale. Authorities believe she previously attended the school.

In fairness to this thought process, if you give an inch they'll try to take a mile.
Just remember, it all started with "we just want to marry the person we love!" now people are including their fricking pronouns in an email signature.

These are valid points. I have a 13 year old in school and kids today are constantly talked to about bullying. It has done nothing to stop it but it has forced the bullied kid to be confronted by the system instead of trying to stay hidden. Bullying has always taken place. Kids used to either cope or not, they could, however, escape it by staying under the radar. They can't do that in the school today....if an adult sees them being bullied it is brought to light, parents called in. The bullying continues but the main weapon of anonymity on the part of the bullied has been removed, making it much harder to cope with.
Kids should be left to deal with kids issues on their own without adults meddling. It has worked for years and yes, some kids were miserable and some were crippled by it but few if any were killed in mass shootings.
Yet another addition to the modest proposal...more guns, less media attention and ignore bullying. And for gods sake start keeping score at tee ball games.
One really interesting point I heard raised in Dr. Phil's appearance on Rogan's show was that when I, and most of us, were in school, bullying was primarily just happening at school. But now with kids always being plugged in to the internet, it basically never stops. Kids have no "safe space" like they used to to get away from it. Used to, you just went home after school, and you could have an escape from all that. Now, they're being bullied and triggered all day long online and everyone in their network sees it online and piles on. Dr Phil and Rogan were speaking more to the suicide rates we see of school-aged kids, but it can't be good for kids with undiagnosed mental health issues either, one wouldn't think.

This is false but you’d have to stop flicking your bean to MSM/CNN to actually see facts.
What have we seen from the left over the past 4 years and what is George soros currently funding locally across the nation? He’s been pushing for criminals to have lesser sentencing on all violent crime by putting in soft on crime judges and DAs. We already have great mental health and background check laws on the books, but your party is hell bent on bending over backwards to make excuses for these people so they get 10,000 chances and when they finally go postal you call for action. The time for action was in their first few signs. Not after they get pushed to shoot up a school.
The harder you are on lower level crimes, the lower the chances you have of higher level crime. Getting the criminals off the streets and actually using the background flagging we have available only works if people in charge use those tools. The left hasn’t proven they will enforce any laws that are passed so rightly so republicans aren’t going to allow any new laws to be passed.

Events like this happen when you attempt to normalize mental illness in the name of wokeness as opposed to calling it out and acting on it.
We all know it and nothing will change.
