Not untouchable. Nothing in constitution is untouchable through the proper and legal constitutional amendment process.
Anyone who thought courts could incorporate the 1st amendment to the states and grow federal power to enforce should have obviously seen the same principle applied to 2nd. One specifically limited congress while the other has no limits on what cannot infringe upon the stated right.

Absolutely. I don't disagree. My main take regarding gun control is that we need to be identifying these crazy people with mental health issues, and make it so that they can't purchase and own firearms. Not until they've been cleared by a mental health professionally.

do you realize how many schools/daycares there are in a city as large as Nashville? There aren't enough cops on the police force to require multiple cops at every school at all times. It would be counter-productive to take cops off the street to basically do nothing at almost every school in the city. And if your answer is "hire more cops," I'd counter with we already have a big enough problem of there being too many unqualified LEOs. Adding thousands more to the payroll isn't going to make that any better.
It may sound cold, but the harsh reality is something like this isn't something that's going to be fixed in that manner. I'd say a 15 min turnaround from a 911 call being made to the shooter being shot and killed is fantastic police work. We're never going to live in a militarized society with cops everywhere to prevent any bad thing from ever happening, and I don't want to live in a society like that either.

Not what you thought probably. Sure, black have the highest "rates" but don't act as if whites don't get murdered by guns. Happens everyday....this thread is about six whites being killed.

That isn't better. You're doing what a lot of counties have tried with may-issue schemes, replacing a sheriff with a biased mental health "professional."

Everyone wants to prevent mentally unwell people from being able to exercise their first amendment rights. But the problem is who do we make responsible for making the policy? We have politicians trying to label entire political parties as domestic terrorists and direct threats to democracy.
I don't trust politicians to decide the grey areas that could potentially restrict the rights of it's citizens.
