i've had to put down a few in emergency situations without power. It's nerve racking for sure.

What does your aircraft registration and data tag say it is?

i would understand the sentiment if I didn't have over 3000 hours of flying under me belt already. I was just asking because of what I was told about the plane having a 470 in it. Now that I've figured out its a 520 I am left wondering abut the nose bulge and when did it go away in the 206.

How do you have 3000 flight hours and not know how to open the engine cowling to read the motor nameplate?

just took delivery on the plane. Haven't had a good chance to go over every little thing on it yet. I located the original log book in a case the seller provided and just now saw it had 520 written in it. The seller said it was a 470.

So many alarm bells are ringing alerting me to the fact that this plane you bought may not have been as properly maintained as pruported...

I didn't ask any of this from anyone. I didn't include every little tidbit of info in my OP because it was not pertinent to my inquiries. The aircraft was a small piece of property from a business acquisition and was ferried here to me and I haven't had any opportunity to go look at it good. I was wondering about the claimed 470 motor, the year and the nose bubble. That's it.

it was part of a business acquisition so i really don't know it's value. I'll figure that out later.

I'm assuming you valued the rest of the acquisition more so then the plane? Interesting item to leave out.

Don’t be getting defensive. 1,800 posts and you should know that asking a question on the OT can go many ways. Generally none of them related to the original question.

But, as a businessman, I have to ask how you completed a “business acquisition” that includes a fricking airplane and you didn’t value it. You do realize that sounds damn messed up?

The cheapest part of owning an airplane is buying the airplane.
