As a country, we have to find some common ground on the political, racial, and cultural fronts. Somehow, this type of speech/behavior needs to be"cancelled". Regardless of race.

He did say it a few years ago. I think it's dumb to make a big deal about something someone said a while back. I don't pick and choose who I think it should apply to.
That's the problem with party politics. Its like a bunch if 13 year old girls. Both sides will be against something until it can apply to someone on the opposite side of their politics.

Honestly There are very real consequences to using the hard R, not the least of which is being branded a racist by the powers that be. So to act like nothing should happen seems like a bit of a blind and disingenuous take.
Overall seems very much a 'rules don't apply to a certain demographic' kind of thing.
I'm sure they'll just delete the evidence from social media and move on.
