It sucks, but it’s not a “legal earthquake.”
Not even close.
Also, 150 attorneys across 18 offices is crazy.

Lawyers are the swords of this century. Words are weapons now. You need lawyers who know how to use them.

Maybe McGlinchey should conduct some thorough "research" why the founders daughter left at $500 per hour like they do me anytime I call to ask them a simple legal question.

However, on a positive note, I only pay $300 an hour for the law clerk to research .

Probably just had some remote work jagoff on the WiFi in phoenix and called it the “phoenix office” kind of thing. Lot of places do it now. Embarrassing.

I have a friend that wanted to sue someone. He used AI to draft his petition. He sent it to me to look it over before he filed it. It was damn good and just needed a little polishing.
You not being to able to out class AI (which often can’t get dates right) is about what I’d expect from someone your level

Bravo Sir!
Spot on.
Damn well stated.

Like I said earlier. I'm 42. In 10 years there are going to be a lot of 50-54 years old lawyers who previously worked at proper firms going what the frick happened and where do I go now?

Huge problem is that there are too many lawyers. A lot become shady because they have to win at all costs with all the competition. The clients don’t care if you comprise your ethics. They want to win and will find someone who will lie and cheat for them. That’s not how it’s supposed to work and it’s rampant.
4 law schools cranking out lawyers in the lone civil law State of Louisiana. It’s not good. Guess the bar and law schools don’t care as long as they get their dues and tuition. Glad I’m out. I tell anyone don’t go to law school unless you have a passion for it and a trust fund. Do something else with your life. Most lawyers I know are not very good people and of low moral character. Course there are exceptions and mostly the much older ones or retired.

Yeah I've just tested random AIs generating random documents and they're pretty good. With so many documents scanned online, it can even be pretty jurisdiction specific. Clearly not something a (decent, at least) lawyer would file

With as much as you post here, do you even do any work?

You’re not wrong but it’s not as bad as it was 5-10 years ago. I think the market is sort of getting to baseline where if you aren’t a complete retard you can kind of make it in law now whereas 5-10 years ago you also had to get lucky.

That is a lot of overhead.

Forgot about that one. Yeah. That is overhead to me, and I never charge for it unless I need some specialized service.
I think DISCO and other database charges are going to be considered overhead as well.

Ha. Years ago I wanted to apply to law school. A partner at a firm I worked for literally dropped by my desk and said “don’t do it, it’s not worth it.” Yes, some make it. But many are scrambling bc the market is saturated.
