I didn’t realize you had already finished the dishes and could have an input in this conversation

This is entirely due to Mardi Gras.
It’s true.
The first presumptive positive case came 13 days after Mardi Gras ended. Anyone with any sense knew it was going to balloon.

South Korea either figured out a cure or quit testing
No, Korea tested more than anyone. Up to 20,000 a day with next day results texted to them. They also stepped up with keeping the public informed.
Unfortunately, the US and Louisiana are going to path of Italy and only testing those with symptoms or someone that meets a criteria and it takes up to 4 days to get results.

SK is an outlier on the world stage. Germany appears to be one too (as of now)

I’m just waiting for the coonasses to start flooding into their shitty hunting camps bringing the virus with them. You know it’s coming.

Anyone have guidance as to whether we should be able to expect this lag to tighten up in the near future?
They have a new test that gives results in 45 minutes. It should be available this week.

Not only did they employ total lockdown much, much faster
S Korea never went to lockdown.

they did voluntarily
S Korea stayed at work, and they kept schools open. They did an amazing job of identifying the infected and isolating them. Also, tracking down and isolating those who had been in contact with them. S Korea is a poor example for us. We are not close to being able to do what they did.

louisiana is not going to follow SK's curve. SK started testing everyone and quarantining early. Louisiana is going to look worse than italy in 10 days.

South Korea took early and decisive action with lots of testing and quarantining based on positive results.

It is crazy impressive how low the German ratio of deaths to cases is. The overall good health of their population seems to be helping their survival rate tremendously.
I know there are likely a myriad of variables but I'm thinking overall health has to be having a big impact.
