My twins are 2 so she won’t see them until she’s released in a few weeks.
Damn, I’m sure they help to cheer her up
Hopefully it will be extra motivation for her to get back on her feet quickly!
Good luck!

Just got the call. My mom is in Hammond and we were having problems. I was going every night to visit. No visitors at all... I’m sick

Most nursing homes have been closed to visitors for some time now
That is not accurate at all.

if by "real" you mean dozens of elderly people already in bad health will die then yes it's about to get real
Man, some of you guys just can't wait to start pulling plugs because you think they had it coming anyway.

I work in a Nursing Home. Today around lunchtime, we begin following the guidelines from the Louisiana NH Association. Asking for no visitors. Tomorrow the doors will stay locked, and all visitors will have to be let in, questionnaires and hand sanitizer in front of an employee.

Does she have her own phone? Maybe phone calls will help. I know that my people will get restless if their people can't come. It's worth a try.

Are they letting contract staff in? I'm contracted for about 40 hours per month -- waiting on a call from our infection control person to see if I've been put on a NO list yet.

The nursing home where my wife works has been doing this since Monday, but that isn’t going to stop a 30 year old individual that was only exposed 4 days ago and is currently contagious from coming in and starting off a chain reaction. I can’t stand the fear that’s spreading but the one concern I have is nursing homes and the residents that live there.

As far as I know, each facility is doing it a little differently. We don’t have any contract employees that come to the our NH.

And that’s the problem, it might be about time for the federal government to step in when it comes to nursing homes or assisted living facilities. We know who the people are that most likely will not survive, nip it in the bud before it takes off.
