I've been at it since yesterday.

48 gallons of gas and 2 full 5 gallon propane tanks. I have $130ish in fuel alone.

The ice storm in 2021

It stayed below freezing for 4-5 straight days in mid Feb then.

This will be 1 day max below freezing in Jan when it’s been in the 60s-70s everyday leading up to the apocalypse.

That's how I rationalized it. I can always pour the gas in my truck and crawfish season is right around the corner in case we don't get anything.

I'm in Shreveport though. I'm thinking it's happening.

In my area, the panic buying has started! I went to Sam’s (to get ahead of the crowd) and was suprised to find no parking spaces and no shopping carts. There are plenty of items on the shelves, but at the rate people were arriving, I don’t expect it to be thst way for long. Next thing I will do is fill my truck with gasoline.

We already panicked bought Monday. And got my case of wine from WTSO delivered yesterday.

Reports of no carts and bare shelves here in Middle Tennessee.

The struggle is real.

Yeah I stopped at the local KJ's earlier today and they definitely had more people than usual and when I drove by the Walmart on the way home it looked pretty packed. I was a little surprised because they aren't calling for nothing too drastic here though I guess they could be wrong. It's happened before

But get the chewy chocolate chip cookies.

Here in Texas, but I'm surprised gas has not started rising.

Houston is projected to be below freezing for a grand total of like 7 hours Sunday through Tuesday. Every day has a high in the 40s.

That ice storm in 2021 fricking broke people. I get that was bad but it also never got below 20 for 4-5 straight days and the majority of the issues came from ERCOT’s power grid being woefully unprepared which has since been fixed (for example before that storm power companies in Texas weren’t required to winter proof the power lines at man electrical stations but they are now).

Stretches of days where it got below freezing at night and you woke up with plants and cars frosted over were a regular occurrence growing up in the gulf coast. Run your water so your pipes don’t have issues and don’t drive like a maniac early in the morning. It was never a big deal

But why? Global warming will be back a couple of days later and all the ice will melt.

I live 160 miles away and I have one. But I didn't wait until a winter storm to try and buy one.
