Papa John's is not as good as it was. Still better than domino's and pizza hut.

in my opinion Marco's tastes alot like Papa Johns. A lotta sugar

The sweetness is what I never liked about PJ. Pizza Hut is horrible now. It’s not greasy and yeasty like it used to be. It tastes like they switched to baking powder. I will stick to LC, because you are at least getting what you paid for.

Their pizza has sucked for the last several years. Not shocked.

Of the Big 3, Dominos is definitely the best today IMO. Crazy to say considering how awful it used to be.

I find it odd that they are only closing franchise-owned stores. Seems like franchises would be a no-risk proposition for them and that’s the stores they would want to keep…
They are protecting their stronger assets. They can't control the brand as much with franchise owned stores. They might be doing some reorganization then offer franchise ownership once they fix whatever issue they are having.

I don’t think there are any real ingredients in their pizzas. It’s all processed or fake.
I knew a guy that owned a Marco's franchise a few years ago & he told me that the Marco's Pizza was better because they used fresh ingredients; he surprised me by saying that Little Caesars also used fresh ingredients (unlike PH, Dom or PJ;); but that Marco's used higher quality ingredients
I was very surprised to hear that about LC...
again, that was 4=5 years ago; so that may not be true anymore

I dont know how any restaurants and chains are staying alive. Talked w a store owner for a BWW and he said his pick up orders were at 41% vs a typical 10-12%. People cant afford to go out and eat like we used to. That makes people far more selective. If i only go out for special occasions, im not heading to BWW for example. Youd stop in to pick up 20 wings for no tip on a combo deal though. Ive seen a lot of places of all kinds shut down. Theyre having to double prices over 2 years and no ones buyin.

I am pretty sure they all use processed food to some degree.

Many are struggling. I’m aware of some Marco’s locations in Austin that are struggling. CiCi’s aren’t doing well either.

The Pizza Hut thick n chewy crust of the late 70’s was the best pizza crust ever. Great flavor. It went away when they came out with the pan pizza. I’ve looked for a copycat recipe over the last few years with no luck.

Poors get the five dollar garbage from LC. Non-Poors get better stuff from GrubHub.

Places like Canes and CFA are still printing money. Anyone that has a drive through. Every time I pass one, lines are wrapped around the building.
We haven't been to a sit down restaurant outside of a mexican date night since December.
Just hate overpaying for food that I will ultimately regret eating

Back when they were a local/regional chain I lived in Louisville. They used to have an option then for “extra crust”. It gave you a little doughy crust that’s was great on occasion.

In my opinion, this is a good thing. I went to Chili's for the first time in many many years... It must have been towards the end of summer maybe. I used to like their Chicken tenders. I don't know exactly what they did, but whatever they put on them to fry them, it was good and went well with their honey muster. When I went there this past time I assumed that was still how they were served so I ordered them.
When they came out I was highly disappointed because it looked like something they took out of a box in the refrigerator and warmed up.
All of these chains have built their name on certain foods, people go eat there because they know what they want and then they change out everything to go with less quality and expect people to still go there as if its the same as before.

Should have never gotten rid of Papa John.

This makes sense. Hope we get some better quality pizza out of the deal.

Most all restaurant food is the same. Big companies like Sysco sell the same items to restaurants for resale.
