I gave up fighting for microwave time and just got one of these for my desk. Works well, just need to remember to plug it in ahead of time because it takes a long time to heat.

they're usually the ones that just hit the "reheat" button, rather than 2min...
then sit in front of the microwave, watching it, wondering how long it may take. meanwhile, he/she is blocking the fridge, the other 2 microwaves, and the water cooler...

Sometimes I will set a timer for 12 minutes at around 11:25. The ice machine is noisy enough to where you can't hear the microwave. At 11:30 two or three people will be in line waiting.

My wife reheats stuff on super low forever!!!! I heat it at super high for a short time .. the stir it and mix the hot areas with cold..
