Wrong. A great friend owns one of the chains. He is Vietnamese so they all aren't Korean.
The food is damn good.

I’m convinced these are all money laundering operations for Asian gangs or the ccp.

those type of places started popping up in Houston about a decade and a half ago. Believe they were called "L.A. Crawfish"
One opened near where I worked at the time. So me and some coworkers went one afternoon and I was quite flabbergasted when they asked me what flavor i wanted my crawfish.
Me: "Ummmm....crawfish flavor???"
needless to say i never went back after that and informed my coworkers if they wanted real crawfish, let me know and i would boil them some

I had someone telling me how great the garlic lemon pepper crawfish were at one of those places. IDK which one even but I just imagine its beltway or burb adjacent. I didn't do a very good job hiding my disgust and just told her to go to the Boilhouse if she wanted some that didn't suck.

We have a Juicy Crab here in Augusta but I've never tried it. After reading this thread there's a pretty good chance I never will now.
I miss Williams Seafood, it was based out of Savannah and they had one here but they're long gone now

There's a bunch of these in Los Angeles.
A few are very good, most are meh.
Hot n juicy crawfish, which has locations throughout the country, is pretty damn tasty.

With all the Fiery Crabs between BR and NO metros and the lack of cars in their parking lots I completely agree
Juicy on College is usually packed at night
Unsure about Crab Kweenz

There's a spot not far from my house. My wife and I have been multiple times. I like the food.

Is it butter? My wife likes those places, and my comment was that it's all just soybean oil and Chinese ditch crawfish, but I guess if they're using real butter that's one point in their favor.

Hot n juicy crawfish,
I've been to the one in Hollywood and the one in Vegas. They will do in a pinch but I'm fairly certain they load up their crawfish with msg or something similar.

I’m surprised that there haven’t been more news stories about brawls at these places because someone feels they got shorted on their order compared to the other table.

I made "juicy" bags one night to try it out. Damn, it was really good. Used oven bags.
Might have to try it.

How is it any different than your typical crawfish/crab boil? Same ingredients and cooking method?

I've never been to Joe's Crab Shack
I went to Joe's in New Orleans once. It was right on the lake at West End where Landry's is now.
We sat down and I asked how much for a dozen. The server looked at me funny and asked, "a dozen what?" "Crabs" I said.
"You want a dozen crab legs?"
"No, boiled crabs. Don't y'all have boiled crabs here?"
"No."
"You call yourselves a 'crab shack' and are literally on Lake Pontchartrain, and you don't serve boiled blue crabs?"
"No."
I laughed as we got up to leave and said they wouldn't make in long in New Orleans. They were closed within two years.
