Habbit. Around my parts almost all companies requires back up parking in their parking lots. It’s safer to back into a spot than back out and quicker to exit in case of emergency
Note: I said safer not easier. You don’t have to worry about someone not paying attention and hitting you when your backing into a spot compared to backing out. When you are leaving, because your car/truck is already facing potential side traffic, your vision to see said traffic is greatly increased compared to trying to back out.

If I arrive to a sparsely filled lot, it allows me to prepare for an easier exit......my truck is long and it’s truly convenient

people usually get to work a different times which allows people the ability to back in to the spots with no issues. When you get off all at the same time imagine 30 cars all trying to back out at the same time..

How f'n hard is it to understand that it is safer pull forward out of a parking spot with full vision of other cars or people that might be in the way? I mean I don't do it because screw people and their cars, but I understand why people do.
