Someone following their preference doesn't make them fragile. If they don’t like that, it’s fine. They have the autonomy to make that choice.

Now if they were going around in adult spaces making a scene/policing others over using adult language, that would be fragility.

If someone wants to stop watching something because they don’t like it for whatever reason, that’s their call. Doesn’t bother me.

What do you think about adults who say they were watching something on TV but had to turn it off because of the language or content? Like when someone says they tried to watch The Sopranos but there was too much cursing, or they stopped Breaking Bad because of the drugs.

We’re adults and understand how the world works. Are people really so fragile that their entertainment has to be that filtered?

You’re right that we are adults. But where you go off the tracks is by caring what other people choose to watch or not watch. Adults don’t care what others watch because it doesn’t affect them in any way. If it does somehow affect you, that’s on you, not them.

It's kinda interesting that you interpret peoples willingness to have some sort of morals is a weakness. The world is lacking in discipline. I sometimes find it encouraging that people have a tighter moral compass and are willing to stand by it.

Except these people are like vegans. They need you to hear them talk about their virtue, usually at length.

I've definitely turned something off if every other word is gratuitous cursing that doesn't add anything of value. Especially female comics that overcompensate their lack of humor with try hard cursing and raunchy topics.

It's more about the quality than the quantity.

I’m one of “those people”. There are certain things if it is at all or goes overboard in a movie or tv show I’ll stop watching.

I don’t need to pollute my mind with some of that crap Hollywood tried to ram down our throats.

Maybe the understand the world and how it works and are striving to live by Christian principles as much as they can (we all sin).

I’d say good for them for striving to try to stick to their morals.

People can watch or not watch whatever they like for whatever reason. Who gives a shite?

With a title like this I expected

When government runs afoul with my religion I side with God.

God
Family
Government

In that order.

I've stopped watching movies or shows that are just too much violence or gore. I just don't enjoy them, and I'm not going to force myself to watch.

Yes. Just look at the long list of banned books in Republican states.

Put personal freedom and all that.

Same with music
I don’t like to listen to trashy vulgar offensive music full of curse words and especially if it’s a female singer being nasty and explicit.

Gotta have some Self Respect

If it’s done realistically or sparingly I don’t mind. If it’s over the top just for affect I don’t care to watch it.

Same with people that cuss every other word. I don’t hang out with classless trash.
