Last year was a nightmare between the kitchen set, the target set, and whatever other things I can't remember we had to put together. We learned our lesson this year and put together a lot of the stuff last week while the kids were at Mrs. Wishn's parents house but we also just didn't have anything terrible to put together this year so I'm about to get to go to sleep and I'm not totally exhausted

And the others are absolutely right about the wooden swing/playground stuff, absolute nightmare. I can't remember it must've been a birthday or something but I bitched out and paid someone to do it. I can't remember how much it cost but it was worth every cent. Godspeed to those still laboring and Merry Christmas

Got a power wheels with a shocking amount of parts and instructions in mostly English but translated poorly.

I've done 2 of these, the first one was fine except for one part the instructions explained TERRIBLY and it took forever but then it was fine. Second one was a little smaller and was a breeze

This is risky. Some of those are stupidly hard to put together with how they’re designed.

100% this.

It really wasn't too bad other than my wife throwing away the box that had the back axel still in it.

In her denfense, that thing was well hidden!!! I had the box next to me and looked around for a bit before I realized I hadn’t removed the somehow camouflaged 3 foot stick

I still have nightmares about the night I put together this MF'er together after getting back to Mandeville at 1am, at least a bottle of wine, a couple egg nogs and at least 4 old fashioneds in. The wife's family is NUTS and doesnt even start doing presents on Christmas Eve until 10:30PM.

Wife went to bed; I cursed, fumbled and bumbled my way through this thing for probably two hours.

“Mom, why did we have to wait until noon to open presents this year?”

My boys are early twenties so toy building is not on the menu. But I do look favorably on the nights in the dark putting together swing sets or forts for them. Until I get grandkids I'm reduced to sending gift cards.

I remember these days. Worst builds were a kitchen set and a doll house. Late nights with enough booze to finish the job.

Did you pass out drunk in the yard from frustration or are you still out there cursing the morning away?

I only had boys but the sentiments are the same. Drink booze until you cannot screw another piece together. It was mostly done by morning.

Holy crap, man. Let us know how it went when you finish sometime late tomorrow.

Talk about spoiling any Christmas relaxation.

Definitely need an update on this one. Assembled one on Monday for my kid. Took 7 hours, after I had already cut everything and assembled the framework in the shop. Then we had to leave town to see family so it’d be hidden until today.
