Uh sorry to break it to you bubba but I’m a registered republican.

I used to be.

But the fringe right became the voice of the party and I left it.

Somehow we let the two fringes take over our political system. And that led to extreme vitriolic politics.

I've never heard of a practicing "Jesuit Roman Catholic".

Jesuits are an order of Priests.

Have you taken a vow of poverty?

Also, Republicans have only 53 seats in the senate while you need 60 to vote in a new Supreme Court justice. I hope Democrats pull the same thing the Republicans did back in 2015 and do not play ball till the election is over.

So many things wrong here but I'll stick with the objective facts.

1. The Dems broke the seal on the filibuster so Republicans only need 50 votes + Pence.

2. Scalia died in early 2016 with a lame duck President and a Republican Senate voted into the majority 15 months earlier to act as a check on said President. In this case the same party holds both necessary parts to nominate and confirm. The President is not a lame duck and his party ADDED to their majority.

Here's a fun fact that was ignored by the liberal media all night. 1/3 of all Presidents nominated a justice in their final year. Of those every justice nominated in the same situation as now was confirmed.

Hope you baws are ready for this shitstorm about to get kicked up to an 11 when Soros' mob get organized for maximum destruction.

She was civil but she did not care about the constitution. She only cared about the liberal position on every issue.

I let my guard down and was gleeful when my wife told me. (Even jumped up and clicked my heels.)... not my greatest moment. I've felt like shite about it every second since. So with that out of the way...go watch the movie about her (OTBOS not RBG.) Taking politics out of it she was an amazing person. She needed to be in order to do what she did. Professionally I've got a shite ton of respect for what she did up until 1993. Her activist streak took this country into the wrong direction. She became caught up in her own vanity near the end to the point of thinking she had any right to tell the government that she didn't want a Trump nominee to fill her seat in 2020.

I don't know where this fits in but somewhere in there she had a wonderful relationship with her polar opposite, the TRULY GREAT Justice Scalia. His judgement of character is good enough for me to respect them both. Perhaps it's fitting that the two of them are forever linked by the timing of their leaving this earth and the arguments that have been the result.

Hmmmmm
Sort of an oxymoron. I know millions of Catholics that would disagree with that position including the Vicar of Christ.

He was told what the end result of him using the nuclear option was and was so short sighted he did it anyway. And now it's going to cost them the Court for DECADES.

No truer statement.

Catholicism is much bigger on spelling out the rules there bud and I am quite sure that aborting a baby is clearly against the rules. Hell contraception is against the rules much less abortion.

She spent a lot of her career supporting the right to kill babies in the womb.
I personally think this will be her unfortunate legacy.

As they shouldn't. They wouldn't let Obama do his pick because it was an "election year" So why now when it fits their narrative that they are going to allow it now?
