No way.
16 consecutive years with a Dem as mayor is enough.
Spending is out of control. BR is leveraged to the max.
It's time to get back to business and get s conservative in office.

And when SG becomes approved, the 4 of them and likely even more can run Baton Ruuuudge into the ground. I mean...you really want to see how stupid these people are? Let them play "Build a City" with a microscopic budget.
I don't think SG will happen, unfortunately. But, there's no doubt that once they get control of the MC, BR will be a big Baker in short order.
The in-fighting between the friends-turned-enemies will be pretty epic, though. They're as predictable as the sunrise.

She is a top contender, that's for sure.
I want to know why I'm paying goddamn 11 mils for the library and 2 mils for the council on aging, when they won't even vote to give BRPD a raise. It's insane. Their starting pay is ~$32k.

Because the COA and library mils are vote buying schemes.

that horse has left the barn and lit out for the territories
neither BR nor New Orleans will ever have a republican mayor again

Eh. In fairness to Kip...he was pro-business.

I'm voting for who ever promises to sync the motherfricking lights on Perkins from end to mfing end. God dammit Kip ruined it with his Downtown Audubon Alive shite. I loved him otherwise.

Tara has done more for her district than the past several predecessors combined.
The activists who only see race won't care about Knock Knock or LSU or downtown. They see the "wrong people" associated with those developments. Years back one council person even fought downtown redevelopment because it would draw the "wrong demographic".
All citizens need to fight this race-centric form of politics done in the name of progress. They will forever torpedo all the good done over the last 20 years. It is well past time for the quiet voices who are afraid to wrinkle the water to step up and reject the Gary/Chauna message.

demographics and the entitlement state have made that impossible and it only gets worse from here. Never going to happen

Tara Wicker
I think I see the problem.
She's named after one of them racist southern white plantation homes.

Every time I saw or spoke to Kip, he was always buzzing and trying to get at the white women. I support

Gravy is officially throwing his weight behind the recall petition. Gud Aftahnoon

Maybe so.
But I'm not voting for a tax and spend Dem right now. It's time we cut the budget, use our resources for roads and drainage.

He was. I gave to his campaign and voted for him twice. He was needed.
It was time to spend some money, get BR moving, and the Republicans were too tight.
Third term I voted against him. He needed to be reeled in and was too arrogant.
Now it's time to cut the fat.
Things go in cycles.

Kip was a leader who honestly liked the people in his city. I remember the times he came to neighborhood functions and didn't do the politico buzz-in buzz-out routine. He would stay the whole night, because he enjoyed it. People loved him for it.
His third term may have been tough, and I didn't agree with everything he did, but I will always appreciate his all-together message and BR first leadership.

He definitely enjoyed being around people, and they enjoyed him

That's not a bad thing. If all of the republicans were to vote for her in a primary, and somehow force a runoff between her and a republican, the blacks in BR would have to vote for Judas or a white republican.

Kip for the most part was a great ambassador for EBR. He got things moving. He also hired some good people around him.
He got a big head, and started pushing pie in the sky projects. He let the police union control too much of BRPD and he let the dept. decline in numbers although he supported the blue.
8 years of Kip were very good.
