Should I be grateful that he’s dead?

I only liked a couple Dead songs but I can appreciate how good they were at their craft.
RIP Bob.

RIP to one of the goats. Got into Dead late in life and was fortunate enough to see Dead and Co 3x and The Wolfpack once. Dude did it till he died.

Im trying to simply be grateful for the times I saw him and what he gave me… the soundtrack to my life, the musical hugs I needed when I was down, the spring day windows down grooves when I was up, the soft chords playing in the background when my brother exhaled his last breath a few months ago, and everything in between.
I’m happy that he came along for my ride, and happy for the times I saw him in small places, up close - the HoB, Saenger and Fillmore.
The man was a rock n roll warrior…Shadow boxing the apocalypse and wondering the land.

Throwing Stones was the last song my wife and I heard before our oldest son was born, as we raced across the mobile bay way. Very underrated dead tune.

Saw hm 66 times with the Grateful Dead and countless times with every other iteration from 1995 to the present.
…now go play a little diddy with Jerry, Phil, and Pigpen—it’s been a while!

One of my cousins, a good player in his own right, went to Fountain Valley School with Bob. Got to share a stage with him at a school anniversary/reunion. Big thrill for him.
