It’s $10.99 now with Zapps and a drink

Used to be $5.99 in mid 2000s

Also they only had Lays during the Covid bullshite which was probably the scariest actual thing that happened to me during the Covid bullshite

Turkey/swiss pita dressed with cool ranch Doritos. Happily made by Cory while the bird squaked.

Wrong AM Mart, this one is around the president streets, not the one on Nicholson and Lee

I was confused as hell!

The one at Lee/Nicholson always had some rotten produce in the case right by where you ordered sammiches!

Cajun turkey with pepper jack FTW….

went to the other AM mart or the one behind reggies(now freds) if you wanted a late night burger.

How long ago was that? Because it’s been a Akasha since the mid 90s when it was behind Sports illustrated.

The owner also owns some of the slums in Tigerland.

Enough is enough': This Tigerland complex is a Baton Rouge crime hotspot.

court declared the property a public nuisance in 2020, and Sandpiper owner Ibrahim Khoder agreed to take preventative measures to reduce the crime.

I remember when i first started going to the real AM Mart back in 1994ish. The owner (Cory i think?) used to carry all kinds of imported beer. He would pull some out from behind the counter and let me try it when i went in. I never stopped going there. Still go once a month or so

Never heard anyone call those a bahn mi.

When the Vietnamese family bought it they put a Bahn Mi on the menu. The pate' they use on it is terrible though, kind of tastes like potted meat. I always got the roast beef and cheddar with light dressing. Couldn't count how many sandwiches I've eaten at that place over the years.

According to the interview, it’s literally right across the street from a police station. Not sure how accurate that is. Don’t even know if the station is even staffed.

RIP AM Mart. We used to cut classes at McKinley and find a homeless guy to buy us booze there.

One of the daughters working there was gorgeous in the early-mid 2000s. Need to swing by and see how it’s changed next time I’m nearby.
