I’m assuming Trump will be there, right?

Would be a pretty bad look for any sitting, former or elected President to not attend the State Funeral for another President.

Man, he missed out on Saquan going for the record next week. I know that was something he was really excited about

Well that sure wouldn’t make any sense.

Yes it would. Biden is on death’s doorstep as well. There’s no way he’s going to be alive come January 20th 2029. He will pass of natural causes during Trump’s second term.

Was he though? He was bitter about getting blown the frick out by Reagan in 1980, never got over it and showed himself to be pretty petty.

Nobody's perfect. In the scheme of things holding a grudge is pretty minor.

Yes

I worked with him on HfH and other causers. A true Christian POTUS unlike what we have gotten in the White House (both parties) since.

It's probably best he died while biden is still in office.

Great humanitarian, terribly unequal to the office of the presidency.

The problem is no one has really given a frick about Jimmy Carter quite frankly within my lifetime. Gen Z will have no idea who he is and same with Millennials.

RIP Jimmy Carter

A very good man regardless of his politics.
He was a better ex-President than he was President.

RIP to a good man and humanitarian.

I believe in President Carter’s prearranged funeral plans Biden is supposed to deliver the eulogy. I wonder if he will be able to do so.

agree, the first part of which is difficult to say of the majority of our presidents
irony the 2 presidents in our lifetimes that could have gotten top secret security clearance as military officers were both 1 term presidents - and Joe was not one of them!

Good man awful President

A country divided by Watergate. A crisis in the middle east with no good solutions, only bad ones. A domestic economic crisis caused by factors (energy prices) linked to the overseas crisis. He was dealt a hand that would have been tough for any president.

Reagan gets credit for rebuilding the US military after Vietnam, but Carter started it and it was well underway by the time Reagan took office. This gave Reagan some options Carter didn't have.

Apparently Carter outlived one of the people who wrote his obituary:
