Should we change the name of New Orleans since the city name was tied heavily to slave trade?

So I went to lunch and just got back and refreshed the live feed. It is clear that they also went to lunch.

I would not be surprised if they are waiting for Mitch's party to start and they will have a screen at the party showing the Lee monument come down so they can all pat each other on the back.

In fact...I think that is what's happening.

I don't think so. But we have changed names of roads for less reason.

But today they are probably selling a lot refreshments to thirsty SJWs, NOPD officers, and masked firefighters.

That's beautiful. Hope they're all sharing a riot-quelling Pepsi together

So you won't move because of the crime rate, the poor K-12 education, the natural disasters, and the limited job market. But taking down muh statues will be the trigger for some folks to move?

Priorities, I guess.

Maybe they will get pissed about the misplaced priorities? You know taking down statues is much more important that having a good economy, safe streets, good schools, etc?

Agree. Liberals in New Orleans love to say that the city is "held back" by things like these monuments or by other things or institutions they associate with conservative white people. It's a false narrative, of course. NOLA has lost population since the 1960s for one reason: the liberals who have incompetently run city hall for the last 50 years. They're the ones who destroyed the public school system and let the streets fall to ruin, which are the immediate reasons why people actually do move out of the city, but the root cause of it all are the people who run city hall, who are all like minded liberal democrats. Don't blame an innocent statue for their incompetence.
