Given the vast national attention this case is getting, and how much evidence that was left behind....
Kind of wild how little the authorities seem to know

Need to keep the case going to distract from the Epstein files

There is no way this story deserves this much attention. They've been beating this dead horse for two weeks. Has to be a distraction. Elizabeth Smart didn't get this much continuous coverage.

I remember that shite on national news for months and that was pre-modern internet so you weren't inundated with twitter, facebook, etc.

I've had this guess since the beginning and I think it's still the most likely case:
This was a burglary, they either didn't know old lady was there or tried to do this without waking her up. She woke up and saw them and now they had a witness.
They panicked and kidnapped her, because they had no intention of being murderers. Lady either dies in captivity or they decide to kill her after weighing their options. Her body has been ditched. The burglars/killers are spiraling in panic.

Do they think she could still be alive at this point?

There are a lot of seasonal homes/snow birds homes out there. For some reason they may have believed no one was home when they chose this home and may have panicked when they realized someone was home.

I'll see your Elizabeth Smart coverage and raise you about 30 years of JonBenet Ramsey coverage.

Natalie Holloway was another one I wasted a TON of time watching one summer as a teenager.

Here's my thought on TMZ..
They pay for information all of the time. To pay the 1 bitcoin to see what happens (with the aid of the FBI) would seem light a good roll of the dice to see what happens.

Nanos didn't rule out acquaintances of the family, nor did he rule out employees of the Guthries.

Quick, take that down before GeauxTigers123 sees it

I’ve been on here long enough to see multiple cases where there was no sign of family influence but this board runs wild with ideas blaming the family.
I feel like usually when a family member does it, it all unravels quickly.

I’m sticking with family. I said that from the start and since this whole situation is a wild guess, I’ll just hold on to my guess that it’s a family member involved

Not a family member. Any family member would warn of a camera.
