How often has someone kidnapped someone, got the ransom, return the person, and kept the ransom without being caught.
I’m sure there are examples but I can’t think of any.
Not sure if it still does, but it used to happen in Mexico/Central America fairly often.

You'd think that if someone nefariously removed it, unless they managed to cut power to it first, would be on video walking up to it and messing with it
I don't see any wires hanging out of the bracket. The doorbell camera may be a battery powered one.

A son-in-law is a suspect. But I was told ruling out family members early on is SOP.
Last to see the victim alive is also a thing they focus on. People connected to the victim in some way do not get away with shite like this. If it's random, there's a chance.

Makes sense.
Maybe his wife is jealous of her famous sister so she concocts a plan to "fake kidnap" mom, demand ransom she knows her sister can and will pay and safely return mom.
Then it went bad when Nancy fought back, had heart attack and died.
They were fricked from the start, but now they are really screwed.
Pure speculation on my part.

Sounds like you only watched 3/4 of the movie.

More like a reasonable theory based on prior human actions elsewhere.

Her sister came out of the wrong hole, damn.

a heart attack wouldn't account for all the blood drops on the front entrance.
Was there a lot of blood inside? Dripping blood must have some sort of meaning. Maybe someone had mostly bled out already????

Unless she fell over and bloodied her nose.
ETA: It wasn't a blood bath. The spotting on the front porch made me think bloody nose. Pair that with the pacemaker and that's exactly how I arrived back at heart attack and fell over.

I've got some crazy family members, I'll admit, but I can't imagine any of them going this far. I suppose bringing the family together for the Holidays is out of the question next year.

I would think she lives in a neighborhood with cameras everywhere
catalina foothills, very nice neighborhood with a fancy outdoor mall (la encantada) and resorts.
quite a ways from the bad part of town, which is south tucson.

Plate readers! I forgot about those.
Don't they know an approximate time of the abduction.
Should be able to narrow it down to a few hundred vehicles or less.

Family stuff seems to just be internet chatter at this point. So I’m skeptical.

The foothills is more of a unincorporated community isn’t it? It’s large, and it’s difficult to see where what one would normally consider to be a neighborhood begins and ends outside of maybe using major streets.
House is on N. Camino Escalante. SW of the intersection where the La Encantada is. Even with doorbell cameras or other security cameras the positioning of the houses in regards to “front” doors facing the main streets passing thru aren’t uniform and can also have varying distances to the streets. Throw in varying heights of ground, houses, & vegetation there would likely be a lot blind spots for cars on the streets if they are even set up to record that far from their houses.

Two hours ago they said they have no suspects nor POI at this point. Still awaiting the feed from the Ring cams. She had 8 apparently all around the house according to the NYP article
