The sad thing is that a school district admitted they didn't know what to do, or what was best for a kid, is the amazing part.

I worked with one at PF Changs in BR. Dude was a math whiz and could tell you what day of the week you were born and something interesting about the day just using your birth date. Definitely autistic but pretty well functioning from what I remember.

Hell, there are cases of people who could fluently speak languages they had never been around after a brain injury.

Well that’s not possible

I've heard of them taking on an accent but not speaking an entire language.

You are refering to chromesthesia, and you dom't have to have a brain injury to have this condition. Torie Amoss has this, as well as Leonard Bernstein. When they hear a musican note, they see a color in their head. Pretty fascinating.

Marilu Henner, the incredible Nardo on Taxi, is a savant, she can remember every day of her life in detail:

I went to school with one. At 16 he toured the UK for the record label his band signed with, the Beatles' Apple"

He was a decent ole boy, I think the never even dated though. He would down a pint of Fight Cock whiskey before every playing.

Would that include Elton John who can remember music and play it regardless of the complexity?

The man used as the character Raymond in "Rain Man" was Kim Peek who could memorize books, had astounding math skills and could give you the day of the week for any date mentioned.
He could read novels in an hour by reading one page with his left eye and the other with his right.

My unpopular theory is that our brains have a type of antenna that can retrieve information from a collective library that is continuously expanding. Thus, Savants help humanity evolve more quickly and even normal humans to some extent also without realizing it.

For most of us, we believe this is not possible so it even affects our subconscious. This further reduces the natural ability of our brain to hone into the precise frequency necessary.
