you about to find out how worthless diamonds really are.

Doesn’t Tiffany have a trade up program? Buy yourself a nice diamond earring for the divorced guy dating phase.

You lucky. My ex said "your shite will be in the garage.... along with the engagement ring".
When I got there, my shite was in the garage, but she changed her mind on the ring.

Yes. FYI guys, find yourself a reputable diamond broker and then buy a setting separately. Or even better, have it set very plainly and then go pick out a setting she likes together.
Diamonds from brick and mortar stores can be very expensive. Do your research before you buy!

I let mine keep it to let her find out the disappointing value of it. Even got something I wanted in return.

My ex tried to give me back the ring after the divorce. Told her she could toss it in a ditch for all I care. I didn't want it.
As for mine I had it melted down in the fires of mount doom because it's source was pure evil.

See if they have a buy back program.
Do you have the GIA certificate? Find a reputable diamond dealer
Really thats your best options, except having a fishing accident. But even then I'm not sure if insurance will pay you directly. I need to check my policy

Who in the hell wants a used engagement ring that’s not a family heirloom? Especially from a failed relationship? Tell her to keep it.

Meet me out back of Bucky's and I'll make you an offer.

If I ever had to do it all over again, I would 1000% buy a used engagement ring that I had inspected and cleaned up. You will pay 1/5th and the woman would NEVER know.
In your situation, I would claim you were walking down the street and it fell into a storm drain and you couldnt recover it with all your efforts.
Get that insurance money, will be 5x what you sell it for
