Looking back at the OP in this thread, was Ruston even in the Marginal risk area? Looks to be right on the edge, or possibly even in the Thunderstorm-only category. Seems like this was somewhat unexpected, especially the timing

It was at the 6:00 news but by 10:00, it was downgraded to Slight. KNOE said the threat was going down throughout the night, obviously they were wrong.

Yeap. Very thankful. Sad to hear 2 lost their lives though. Tornado doesn’t appear to have leveled any structures. Just created large debris fields

My son's up at La Tech, called me at 2:30 a.m. to say he was OK. Tornado passed about a block from his house. Lots of damage and debris on campus.
