I've never been with anyone intelligent enough to have opinions on important shite. It works better that way

~70% of college-aged women are (nominally) leftist, though that's more a result of public school indoctrination than any real thought exercise. There are many, many among that ~70% that are fine as frick.

I couldn't date someone outspoken about their political beliefs no matter what they were.....I find those people annoying.

There's no way on God's green earth I could. I have a hard enough time with my wife's views and we are pretty much in agreement on everything (she just takes things waaaaaay too personally).

My BF & I are opposites on the political spectrum. We kinda tease each other about it, but we aren't particularly passionate about politics.

I could definitely date one, in theory I could probably seriously date one.

But it's not just politics, it's the things that accompany politics. IRL I'm a conservative, (on the poliboard I'm Nancy Pelosi). I like guns, I'm a Christian, I'm not overly politically correct, etc.

While there are probably some lefty girls that can coexist with a dude like that, that pool narrows substantially. Also, and I recognize this is a really broad brush, but I just don't see the interchange between being a liberal and embracing the family lifestyle I hope to have. It does exist, I just think it's less common and I'm admittedly prejudiced against Democrats when it comes to their familial instincts.

They can discuss all they'd like but I'd rather they not vote.

My wife definitely leans more liberal than me.

Every now and then she will send me something about Bernie saying "I kinda agree with this. Thoughts?" and I'll have to destroy it and make her feel bad for ever considering it.

She generally comes around to my side of things since obviously I'm always right

Depends on where you are. My perception has been skewed by living in the hotbed of liberalism in Appalachia. My stances are probably not near as eyebrow-raising in more normal parts of the South.

I dated a chick for three years.
I was actively involved with the legalization movement. She was very anti-pot.
One of the reasons we broke up.

Nope. I automatically think less of someone that supports getting government handouts.

Why was she so anti-pot? That'd be a deal breaker for me also

My wife don't smoke too much lately but encourages my smoking

Yes. Politics really don't matter unless she was some kind of activist
